Here's an update for everyone :-)
The 40th Anniversary Concert - Update 16/10/2020
When will we receive tickets?
Tickets for the event will be emailed to you on Friday (23rd). They will not be actual tickets but a simple url link, which will give you a direct connection to the broadcast (this will be hosted on a dedicated server hired for the purpose). Each url will be individual - if someone else uses yours to watch the concert, you will automatically be cut off. If you have not received your ‘ticket’ by midday on the Saturday (and have checked your spam filters etc), please email us at info@newmodelarmy.org.
Will the broadcast be available on my TV?
If you have a smart TV, then yes. You can test it in the meantime by logging into your email or any internet site. Alternately you can cast from an Apple or Android phone to your TV. If you don’t have a smart TV or smartphone, you can run an HDMI connection from a computer or laptop.
We will have a NMA screensaver in place for one hour before the live event so you can check that you are in the right place; if you are still having problems logging in during that hour, you will be able to email us at info@newmodelarmy.org and there will be someone on hand to help you.
When will the T-shirts arrive?
As said before, if you ordered before 24th September, your T-shirt(s) is on its way and should be with you by the time of the broadcast. If you ordered after that date, you may be lucky but we can’t guarantee it; your shirt(s) will arrive after the event. If you have received a shirt but it’s the wrong size, we are able to exchange it. Please return it to New Model Army Shop, 262 Thornton Road, Bradford, BD1 2LB with your order number and your request.
How late can I buy a ticket?
You can buy tickets (and shirts) right up to (and after) the beginning of the broadcast.
Can I watch it later?
This is a 100% LIVE concert. If you cannot join us for the broadcast, please do NOT buy a ticket. However, it will be available to watch for an indefinite period in a different pay-to-view location, via a link on our website, from Sunday 25th. If you have already bought a ticket for the live event but are now not able to watch, please write to us BEFORE FRIDAY 23rd, and we will cancel and issue a refund.
Will there be special guests?
No. Unfortunately, like everyone else at this time, we are having to operate under social restrictions.
How long will it last? What will the band be playing?
The show will begin at 20.00 (UK time) and will last for between 150-180 minutes. The band will be playing two sets with a 20-25 minute break in the middle. During this time, your screen will display a chat room and we invite everyone to let us know where in the world you are watching from, with whom and to send us (or each other) any message they wish. The band will be performing approximately 30 songs (which, sadly, is only about one eighth of the catalogue!) from all different eras of their history, approximately two from each album, including a few songs that haven’t been performed for more than 30 years.
We’re looking forward to it.

and do I understand it right: I can test my personal url on more than one device to find the best sound/connection (copy and past the link in the mail into my browser), but not use it on more than one device at the same time?

You're personal url will only work once the feed is active. It will only work on one device at a time.

So am i right when i think that i can do it like this:
One hour before the stream i can use the url to put in my browser of the playstation, see if it's working and the logo/screensaver will be displayed (some sound would be nice) or it won't. And if it doesn't work, i can change the device and use the same url to put in my labtop browser!?
It doesn't mean that you can only use the url once and then it's burned, but you can only use one device using that url..?

The url will work on one device at any one time. It is not a one shot use and then the url is burnt - it will work continuously through the evening but only on one device at a time.

"If you haven't received your ticket link for tonight's show, please don't worry, we are working on this issue and hope to have the link with you asap. Before contacting us, please check your spam filter and wait till after 12pm (UK). We appreciate your patience with this matter.
We will be posting further updates as the day goes on."

I've been checking my emails and spam filter, every 15 minutes like a nutter, and nothing... nothing. It's not looking good for me at this point. I've just sent them an email, but I'm thinking they're going to be so swamped with emails that the systems going to crash or something. Fcukin' 'ell. So fcukin' sucks to be me. Soooo bummed right now. I waited in good faith, for more than 10 long years for a New Model Army gig of some sort, and now it feels like it's all going to go to shits, for me. Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! I don't want to miss the live stream tonight, well this afternoon, if luck turns around... but I'm losing hope right now. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

dear 8....i'm pretty sure you won't miss a second of the live stream, there's still plenty of time and your ticket will arrive. i know that you"re sitting on hot coals and your enthusiasm acts like a fuel injection in this case, but i wouldn't tell you to stop it. where there's passion there's also always a little pain...
i'm trying to calm down, relax and get some nap before the show...

Have a restful nap and please let me know when you're all set Cthulhu. When you've tested everything out, I mean. I'd love to know if the link is already active and if there's sound accompanying the screen saver. :)

Streaming is open from 7pm with a chat feature, which will remain throughout the performance, which starts at 8pm.
You can disable the chat function by simply clicking 'full screen mode'.

Nearly 1 hour fight with the old computer connected to tv before - last night all was fine, but today win 10, antivirus and something else wanted to install updates >:(
Better check it out now and tell win 10 to stop updates `till tomorrow .... I don`t want to follow the gig using my laptop with poor sound

OMG!! Andy check your emails, spam / junk folder for the email that contains the link. Make sure you're checking the email account you used to purchase the ticket. :-\ If that fails, email for help at info@newmodelarmy.org, asap! Fingers crossed for you Andy. Keep us posted.

It was amazing!!
I mean, with these circumstances we live with... I came to my friends' place, where I still am thanks to lockdown measures, to see this...
Maybe because of the wifi, the sound/picture froze every now and then, giving me extra heart palpitations on top of the heart palpitations I usually have... ;D
Also we encountered an angry neighbour banging on the wall, increasingly agressive, so had to check the rest of the concert in slightly lower volume :-\ Ach jo, missing the true concerts, whenever it will be possible again to have a proper pogo pit without endangering the public health ::) I think everybody is missing concerts.. If I'm not much mistaken, Justin's eyes looked a bit sad every now and then... At least my eyes did :'(
Whatever, we just live on an angry planet....... ;)

Hey there WisconsinTodd, man, I really feel for you dude. :-\ I sure hope NMA stream an uncut full version for those of us who missed out on any part of it, and or the entire original stream altogether. I'm gutted that I missed a taste of the sound check. I'm not a facefooker, but took a peak at what was happening on the official FB page, and a woman who was one of the few who got in quite early, had the bonus pleasure of savouring a bit of the sound check. I'm gutted about missing that. That's stuff we don't ever get to see, as fans. The mechanics of putting together any kid of gig, seriously interests me to no end. I would've loved to have caught that bit. But I highly doubt they're going to keep the sound check in the up-and-coming repeat stream, whenever that takes place. It's supposed to be today, but still no official word about details as of yet. I'm praying like hell :-\ that the powers that be keep the soundcheck in the repeat 40th anniversary stream. Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed, at any rate.

We always knew that doing it totally live would be a risk; that, at times, the band would 'make mistakes', the cameras and video feeds might be look bit haphazard, the sound mix wouldn't be perfect studio quality. But we thought that it was the right, and for us, the only way to approach it, because we believed that what people really want and need at the moment is something with the spirit that only a truly live event can create.
However, we are aware that some people had connection issues, drop-outs, buffering problems. Far worse than that, a few people who bought tickets, never received their link. Despite having a team of people answering emails and coping with a surge in last-minute sales, we were never able to catch up with the amount of email traffic coming in yesterday. For this, we can only apologise.
The stream will now move to a different pay-to-view platform at https://www.themill.tv/, which should be available from tonight. However, EVERYONE that bought a ticket for last night will receive a code to watch this for FREE for a single one-off 24 hour period on Wednesday - we only ask that people don't share the code and don't leave it running if they're not actually watching it.
