I know it's a bit early but the venues involved would like to get an estimate of numbers, so they have enough staff on!
For those of you that have been to the Albert Road area before, it has somewhat changed over the last few years, thanks mainly to the Council & the police 'quaterising' four main drinking areas...
Anyway... These are my recommendations and will go with the majority flow...
1.) Little Johnny Russell's
Probably the most 'Family' friendly,
Pints of cider are £2 until 7pm,
Will remain open until 1am, if enough of us return after the gig,
NO food served on a Thursday BUT, will let you bring food in from the Chippy next-door, as long as you tidy-up afterwards... (They'll provide bin-bags!)
Limited Real Ale (Doom Bar and Director's)
5-10min walk from gig.
2.) The Leopold
Big range of Real-Ales and Ciders/Perrys,
Very much a 'local's' pub,
NO food (other than crisps),
2-3min walk from gig.
3.) The Bold Forrester
Run-of-the-Mill Greene King pub,
Kitchen open all day,
2-3min walk from gig.
Being a cider drinker, I am obviously biased towards LJRs, but don't let that put you off! ;)
EDIT "NO food served on a Thursday BUT, will let you bring food in from the Chippy next-door, as long as you tidy-up afterwards... (They'll provide bin-bags!)" - By this I mean't your chip wrappers... They're not expecting to clear-up the pub...

Leopold every time. To be honest it will probably take 2-3 pubs anyway to accommodate all those in attendance. Food isn't an issue, there are many artery clogging establishments within pie throwing distance in all directions, and houses of curry for post gig doins.

Leopold sounds perfect!
-
I'd better check the Leopold hasn't got it's quiz night on! - You don't want to upset it's quiz night!
-
First rule of quiz night...
-
if the local knowledge says the leopold then so be it, quizzers beware
-
If quiz night is on, we won't be let in... They take it that seriously. A mate of mine is barred for answering a question aloud. ( To be fair, we weren't playing.)
-
I'm going to be away for a few days... So I am suggesting the following...
Little Johnny Russell's until 7pm... (They are only bar that have actually made any concessions for us, so it would be a bit rude not to make an appearance...!)
The Leopold from 7pm...
The Leopold you can see from The Wedgewood Rooms. It's on the other side of the road, to the left...
To get to LJR's, you need to cross the road from the Wedge, turn-right and keep walking until you get to The King's Theatre (you can't miss it), cross over the brightly decorated street, (you should be in front of a big antique's shop (Parminter's), it more or less next door.
See you there!
