Seems like festivals now require serious amount of cash and days off work to go to. I can't justify that anymore even for a smaller one let alone a big one like Reading/Glastonbury (not debating value for money - look at the line ups but a realistic spend of £300 odd quid for a weekend camping and standing in a muddy field is a bit much: even a 1 day concert to see Pearl Jam at Milton Keynes will cost £75 for the ticket alone.) I went thru' E Festivals earlier to see if there was anything that grabbed but it didn't so.............
What would I pay £120 for:
Gotta' limit things - 1 day, 1 Stage:
10.30 - 12.00 New Model Army
9.30 - 10.15 Rise Against
8.00 - 9.15 Fields Of The Nephilim
6.30 - 7.45 Frank Turner
5,15 - 6.15 Low
4.00 - 5.00 First Aid Kit
3.00- 3.45 Seth Lakeman
2.00- 2.45 The Men They Couldn't Hang
1.00 - 1.45 Justin Sullivan & Dean White
Averages out at £13 per band - that sounds fair cos' none are doing full sets. Works for me so who's on your line up? Has to still be a going concern! No dead people or busted bands.

hmmm... how realistic does it have to be? This is an NMA forum, so I presume that the lads have to be headlining... so does that mean you couldn't have the likes of Pearl Jam second on the bill? Likewise, I'm really into Frank Turner nowadays, but seeing as he's playing big arena dates right now, don't think he's be going oin mid-afternoon... yes, I know it's a fantasy thing but does that mean we could have The Who playing at 4pm?
I'm gonna work on a potentially realistic line-up and get back to you tomorrow...
Lovely idea for a thread though... I often think about stuff like this when I can't sleep... :D

I guess the only realistic bit is that the band/artist could actually be on stage. Your the boss and imagine that fees/egos aren't involved so yeah put The Who on at 4 in the afternoon !

OK, here's my fantasy festival, and one I've chosen to base in the real world, although it might have to be a co-headliner...
10.30 - midnight... NMA
9.15 - 10.15... Sisters Of Mercy
8.00 - 9.00... Carter USM (yeah, they're not splitting up really and announce it here... :))
7.00 - 7.45... The Levellers
6.00 - 6.45 - The Wonder Stuff
5.00 - 5.45... The Justice Tonight Band (look 'em up... ;)
4.00 - 4.45... Inspiral Carpets (would have been higher if Tom H was still the singer...)
3.00 - 3.45... David R Black
2.00 - 2.45... Junker (never heard of them..? OK, fair enough, its my mates unsigned band ;D) )
1.00 - 1.45... JS and Friends...
EDIT - dammit, jackroadkill mentioned Therapy! They'd have fitted right in with my fantasy festival!!!
