First off I think this is a wonderful song but have no idea where to buy or even download this song.
I know it's B-Side or rarity but is it available on C.D. or mp3 somewhere? When, where and in what format was it originally released? It's a hauntingly beautiful song so why does it not get more attention?
I had no idea that it existed until i stumbled across it on youtube a couple of yeasr ago and immediately listened to it several times. I would love to purchase the song somewhere if it even exists. I don't have any way to play vinyl if that is the only solution.
Can anyone help me on this?

I've come across 2 versions - both sadly only mp3.
The second is seemingly referred to as Silver Light - which is a lyric from the song. I presume it's the finished version as it's good enough to be released. It's the best version IMO as it has better production and added guitars.
I think it's on a bootleg called 'The Attack Demos', but could be wrong.
Use a site named 'listentoyoutube.com' and you can download anything you're interested in.

So I've looked at the info I have for this track, and it's uncredited. (All the bootlegged demos are...)
It's original source would likely be from a leaked studio tape, so one can't buy it.
Version 1: 3m45s
Version 2: 4m46s
I suspect it's an Out-take from the T+C sessions circa 1987-88.
There are some additional live audience recordings too, but they are inferior.
It's one of a handful of 'Lost' tracks that are worthy of being issued - even if only as MP3's in the online shop.

Deffo the title of the next NMA album! ;D
Have to ask, the cover of that bootleg... is that a Joolz artwork! Really like it, if so! Wouldn't mind that on a T-shirt!

Presumably the name went from "The Boogie', to 'Boogie Oogie Woogie' and then, quite naturally, to 125MPH. If memory serves, Moose mentions it on his blog.
In that version there is no violin nor harmonica. There are some other differences, but it's very close to the finished version.

It sort of looks like the style of Joolz's art-work but can never be sure. I thought she did them all. :)
I wish that T&C demo bootleg were available to download.

All of the bootleg albums mentioned elsewhere in this thread are readily available as P2P shares.
I'm sure the band wouldn't appreciate me telling you where to get them, esp not on their own forum.
I found 'Cursed', 'Betrayal', 'The Rose', 'The Attack', 'Roly', 'Once were Warriors' and all 3 'Shot Between the Eyes' albums in less time than it took to write this post! All are unofficial bootlegs and most weren't even available as a cd or record.
There're over 70 demos in this lot, covering the early years to 'Love of Hopeless Causes' - no live stuff included in this calculation either.
A third party application is needed to search out the users that share these files, so there might be a small learning curve involved for some readers.

Such a release is made without the approval of the band, they have no say in it's production and they do not make any money from it's sale. The artwork used on 'illegal' records is usually arbitrary, and is obviously not approved either. This particular bootleg just happens to have a nice cover.

Perhaps they are destined to wind up on a second 'Lost Songs' album..?
I know NMA aren't a backwards-thinking kind of band, but some of these tunes are too good to let drift off into the arena of the forgotten...

I always buy the actual releases and don't own any illegal bootlegs. I just wish they could release more old demos. I feel guilty to illegally download work by any artists. Now, If it were a stadium band like U2 who has enough money to feed, shelter and cloth an impoverished nation, it would not matter. but the bands I like are not like that and have to work for it. It is sort of stealing.
My fear is that some b-sides and demos were lost in the studio fire a few years ago. That would be very tragic as there would be no way to re-release it. The illegal bootlegs may be the only way to hear some of the songs.

If there is no legal way of getting hold of these tunes, I see no wrong in listening to them via Youtube and the like... it just indicates that there is some demand for them and if it makes the NMA fellas think on, then why not? Some of those tunes, with a bit of spit and polish, could instill themselves in the hearts of NMA fans like Knife or Burning Season... and if it puts a few quid in the coffers so an amazing band without major label backing can keep going... ???

The band will already be aware of these so-called ROIO's (Recordings of Indeterminate Origin) as they are all 20 years old (or more).
One could swing by the shop and support the band by making a purchase to ameliorate the guilt. ;D Or bring back self flagellation.
