New Song Guessing is now available to listen on Youtube!
New Model Army - Guessing (http://youtu.be/x1rGs-YQYS8)

Cracking.
-
Absolutely brilliant. Great guitar track. Well done chaps :) :) :)
-
Just heard it on the NMA Channel. Oh Yeah ;D ;D NMA Ready to Rock the House again. 8)
-
Definitely liked this on first listen via my phone
Thought it sounded quite a lot different to dog and wolf, the drums were lower in the mix and certainly not tribal Loved the guitars thought they had a aggressive punky edge to them
-
AWESOME... ;D
I love it (on first listen, which is saying something after the struggle I had with the last album).
-
Sounds great!
-
What a cracking track, while I love BDAW this is a real return to the more tub thumping energy of some of TIAGD and High, loving it ;D
-
Can't wait to hear the rest of the songs on the new album. Brilliant new song.😁🎧
-
Very rarely like a track on first listen, but this one is an instant like ;) Think it still has the BDAW sound to it, but with more umpf
If BDAW has an attitude of, - I just fell in love with my girlfriend,
then Guessing has the attitude of, - We just had our first row :D
-
Dammit - Someone else posting a link to a new NMA track. Hope we don't have the same shit go on that went on in a different thread. ;D
Thanks Viv.
-
I hear a hint of Seven times in the song for some reason. The song is instantly likable and fits well with BDAW.
-
Can't wait to hear that live!!!!
Huge ruck in the middle of the park when this is played i imagine.
I agree with with the other comments too, instantly likable.
-
Love it.
-
Yes, cracking!
-
Great track.
In keeping with BDAW but more "guitar-y"
-
Brilliant. Third time listening in as many hours! Can't wait for Between Wine and Blood, pre-ordered it today!
-

Exactly the same thoughts here - very chuffed indeed. Seems that songwriting is back on the table as opposed to clever production. Ace.

Got to disagree about the song writing on dog n wolf Maybe some people disliked the tribal drums, the guitars turned down or the slower pace of most of songs but for me the lyrics were some of the best that nma have done.

I agree that the lyrics were very good, but there's more to songwriting than lyrics in my view.

Surprisingly i like the slower paced songs. I think some of the best NMA songs are the slower paced ones. I can see the people that gravitate more toward metal and punk not liking it though. Lyric-wise it was genius as said before. :)

Are you sure you're not mixing up 'song writing' with 'my preferred style'? What is good song writing anyway? Ultimately a good song is one you like. "Guessing" is mostly two chords, so hardly a stroke of genius. It is a fine song, though don't get me wrong.

Not really, although I suppose there's an element of personal taste in every subjective. What I meant was that I felt that in the majority of the songs on BDAW the focus was on the production and presentation of the tracks, rather than on the songs themselves. Again, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but personally I feel that the song is the cake and the production the icing; I can live without icing, but the cake is important to me!
And as for genius, I think that genius can be found in simple things.
Sorry if I came across as overly-judgemental or snobbish, as that wasn't my intention at all.

You weren't. I guess I just like BDAW a lot. We all have our preferences and it's ultimately pointless to argue over music. You either like it or you don't. So I'm glad you like this one. And I'm sure you're not the only one who is pleased with the return to the more classic style and sound. I guess we're all super curious to hear the other 5 tracks now to see in what direction they go.
-
Nothing to do with the music, but I'd have icing over cake any day.
Cheers

I don't know if I would rather icing or cake. It depends on the icing really and the cake. Which ever one contains more chocolate.Preferably dark chocolate. If it's the cheap, nasty, over sweetened package icing, than cake wind hands down. This is getting really philosophical

My drunken wife started singing highway to hell earlier when I played this new track and then said "oh its not but its still good"she is a great barometer.anyhow cracking track, the energy is back, still love lean back n fall and tomorrow came though, I guess thats how you sustain longevity, through light and shade, still got "as empty as the sky"running through my head like a fucker!
-
Like everyone else here I loved this new track! This goes to show that you should NEVER put the guitars away!
-
Anyone sussed out the end of this line at 1 min 38 ?:
"But I cannot chase the Sunset any quicker than I'm going and I'm going like I never ?"
My ageing ears would appreciate your assistance.
-
Thinks it's "going like I've never begun"
Love it
-
Thanks Dilla - Feelin' the love too.
