As this is the only album track without it's own forum topic, here it is.
What are your thoughts on the very opening track on the entire album?
I like it from first listen. Am not entirely sure what it's about but have my own sort of interpretations. I also can not decide if the lyrics are meant to be positive of negative. I am also not sure if "You" is meant to be one particular person or several.I interpret it as one. Art is subjective though so my interpretation is probably not even close to Justin's when writing the lyrics..
It works well as an opener of the album and i really like it.
Please share you thoughts?

Yes definitely a excellent and very likable opening track
Its fairly fast paced with good rock guitar sound and lyrics that stick in head and you find yourself singing. It has lyrically hints of past songs with vapour trails etc

Love it, like a heavy "doors" almost psychedelic, positive lyrics I'm reading, would make a classic set opener with the building beginning, anyone know who it is in the third verse sample overdub?

Cracking good song and I'm hoping to hear it live in Nottingham in December... but it wouldn't fit on BDAW... likewise ANGRY PLANET...

Coincidentally, there is a new interview online where Justin answers those two questions:
Do you set out with a theme? The albums have a story to tell.
"Sometimes. 'According to You', there is a kind of principal in there, it's a positive song. "Angry Planet" is an entirely cynical song. 'Happy to be here' is a personal song about a night driving through Southern England. 'Devil's Bargain' is written about a particular person."
In 'According to You', who is 'you'?
"That's a pretty general one. I suppose it's typical New Model Army, it's an anti-cynical song followed by a cynical song."

The Preacher in the background, is It the same as from the recording as used on "High" does anyone know?
-
I recall Justin saying it was a Christian street preacher in Washington DC who they recorded. As said above, used previously on High & as the opening gig intro on the High tour
-
Ahh, a Manic Street Preacher !!
