This is a sort of band that makes many songs that may not sound do good first listen, Then one day become Brilliant.
For me the song like this that stands out most is "Someone Like Jesus".
Others being The Hunt and I need More time.
Of course this is all up to personal taste.
What about for you?
-
I need more time off the last album
Didn't get it in the cd til I saw the live shows... Then it clicked
-
Same for me. In the live shows it was excellent! Justin really put a lot into it and did that intense eye thing at the end. It's just one of those songs best live.
-
Mambo Queen of The Sandstone City. Thought it was filler on the album. Live... :D
-
I've mentioned inheritance before. I'm still not a big fan of the t&c studio version. Its definitely a million times better live
-
Well, Ghost of Your Father, Lights Go Out and Gigabyte Wars. The reason I didn't like LGO at first was the single version which is a bit experimental and repeating chorus too often. On the other hand the song is clearly a classic. Do like all them nowadays.

To that add Tomorrow Came
That inky really clicked for me whe JS did it solo at Kiddie

That was brilliant in acoustic form. I don't think NMA has played that live actually.
-
I think it's a bit similar to La Push folk rock 'style'. I think sometimes some of their songs sound at first like a 'rocky' stuff, later on you may find it rather more a folk song.
La Push is btw brilliant loud folk singalong hit, wished to hear it some time.
-
Both tomorrow came and la push havent been played other than acoustically as far as i know, i am fairly hopeful that they will appear at the xmas shows second set as they are recent, ecletic and have extra instrumentation, both killer songs.

La Push - live full band at YT

right and wrong answer - I did`nt dislike that song, but there`s a full band version
-

Yeah, well said that man. Top song! I don't know how others feel about these folky songs and this may sound strange but I think La Push sounds like some ...sort of a declaration or propagation at the guilds hall, with a clan present. ::)
I get these visions often about songs. The Charge, Sunset, Family, Better Than Them...
-
good topic...
had big problems with LS43, and understand u, hmm also carlisle road and one of the chosen.
all of which i now love. there was aband led by mark eitzel called american music club that on first few listens seem hard work but if you stick with it...you find something deeper in the music that actualy enriches it. the above songs especially fit into that category, LS43 most definitely!!

La push, Red Earth, Dawn, No mirror, no shadow, Rumour and Rapture. Because of as many have said, hearing them live. It was like being given a new toy to play with :)
-
At the beginning, I wasn't impressed by I need more time... until I listened to live. Since then, I love it !
-
Red Earth for me as well now it's nothing short of genius.
I think "I need more time" is a common one. Buy damn, is it good live.
-
I didn't really get Purity, which might seem odd. It just took a while to click. Same with High. Now they're two of my favourite songs.
-
Sunrise.
Had a bit of a WTF moment when I first heard the backing vocals, but I have grown to like it very much. Overall, now its been a few months I think all of BWAB is bloody brilliant

Actually, Sunrise really grew on me, too. At first it didn't seem to fit, and then something clicked and I realised it was an absolute cracker. Tugs at my heartstrings.
-
A lot of bdaw if I'm being honest i listen to a lot now loving horsemen especially at the moment
-
I need more time.
Seemed like the odd one out for me on BDAW but I totally love it now.
-
"Where i am". I found the chorus a bit easy/silly at first but now after 7 months i think it's a fine, catchy, touching track.

Same!
I especially like when Justin sings these words...it's touching!:
Sometimes the world works out the way you want it
Sometimes you say the things that you meant to say
Sometimes the moments break clear and certain
Sometimes the things you fear just roll away
