I will apologise in advance if my post has already been covered, but just found out that Wattie from the exploited had a heart attack on stage earlier this year, i had no clue.
Never seen them live but was brought up on their music from a teenager.
Is anyone else on here an Exploited fan ?
-
Sorry to hear that. Like the Exploited. "Dead Cities" one of the best ever new wave Punk songs
-
I seen the exploited when i was about 14 or 15 in Glasgow It was the gathering of the clans tour exploited cron gen anti pasti. Can't remember anything about it to be honest. Always loved the f.a.m. song im sure any exploited fan can work it out. Also liked big john when he was in goodbye mr McKenzie.

I'm a fan. I think Punks Not Dead was my first punk record on Vinyl. I knew he had a heart attach on stage, yes. Heard he is doing better now, or is even touring again. Never seen them live, but want to one day they come to Belgium again.

Pol, the bands you were talking about are excellent. I have Antipasti and Chron-Gen records. As well as Exploited too.
Big John is quite interesting person. You Scotts should know the Gin Goblins? Excellent horror punk band. A bit excellent
Btw, how was it what happened to Bog John later on

Must check out The Exploited...

I used to know them back in the early days(1st album) and was regularly on their guest list,we even did some "security" for them at a few gigs.To me they were a great live band and the energy didn't really come across on the records.I used to know the bass player Gary McCormack mainly and I believe he went onto acting,he was in Gangs of New York!.I've never managed to see them since about 1982!,i was planning to go to a gig in Manchester last year but it was cancelled because of Watties health, the gig is on again this spring so I may well make the effort for old times sake!

I would like to see them live as i have bought many of the albums.
I have to be honest and say that whilst i have first hand experience of the pit at many an NMA gig, for some reason an Exploited equivalent scares me somewhat, especially listening to the raw energy that the band produced in the early days (and still do now if you listen to **** the System).

I loved them when I was a ruffty tuffty punker way back then.

Do you still wear it at School now you are Teacher ???

Exploited albums Massacre and Punks Not Dead were my first punk albums I bought as well as the Charged G.B.H. No Need to Panic and UK Subs Demonstration Tapes.
I think the best of Exploited are Let's Start a War, Troops of Tomorrow and Horror Epics.
I know the singer of Oi Polloi. He once said to me that one of his friends played in Exploited too. I've heard Wattie likes motorcycles a lot. Maybe Jez Pike might know more about Wattie's hobbies?

Has anyone listened to '**** the System'. I own every album by the Exploited but i have to admit that one is my favourite.

It was a long long time ago when I used to know the band, they were only about 18 or 19 at the time,i think one of their 1st ever gigs in England was at a West Indian club in Preston,2 coach loads of punks down from Edinburgh it scared a few of the Preston regulars away, great gig though

I'm wearing mine on the picture on my driver's license. Epic picture combined with my hair style. I was 18 back then. 20 years ago... More holes than shirt now, but I never throw away shirts.

Big John's had a few bands post Exploited, Blood Uncles were really good, then Goodbye Mr Mackenzie (also featuring one Shirley Manson pre-Garbage), and Gin Goblins as mentioned above. He now lives in Amsterdam and works at the Melkweg. He's recently guested on a Steve Aoki single "The Kids Will Have Their Say", and a single by Man Lifting Banner "Capitalist Pig Attacked By Reds". He also played one gig on guitar with Nirvana, but decided not to join them full time (He was Kurt's guitar tech).

i like them in the beginning. as a young lad. then they became some kind of clowns..........in my opinion
-
I respect them.Exploited is a great band.I still love their music.More honest than many other bands.Makes me remember my hard days when I was young.Punks not Dead,Troops Of Tomorrow,Death Before Dishonour,Horror Epics,Beat The Bastards are my favorites.

I was staying over the weekend at my cousin's in Brussels for the weekend. He was out trying to make mends with his girl. I must have been 14 years old or so. Went out to the Fnac in the center. Came across this piece of vinyl:
