Title: Windows 10
Post by: Rusco on December 27, 2015, 06:11:13 PM
I updated from Win 7 Pro (with SP 3 updates) to Windows 10.

I liked Win 7 and feel I shouldn't had to take Win 10. Windows 10 looks like it's some cover or a coat put on a version of 7. You can find many of the options and tools of 7 under it but you cannot find anymore all it's needed options.

I've had difficulties with updates on 10. They do not update automatically even though it's set to automatic. Reason is you should log in with your Microsoft passwords.

Any thoughts about this new version?

Looks flash but thats about it, seems as if it was designed along xbox lines. Wish I'd stayed with windows 7 but maybe I'm just a luddite  :)

I'm still on Windows 7 and I wouldn't change it for the world... OK, some websites run a little bit slower than they used to, but otherwise, it's all good...

Same here.

Have told windows 10 to do one and jog on. Stop hassling me every time I log on.

It wouldn't be any benefit to an already slow pooter like this.

You should all update to Linux.

Linux - which one (multimedia) do you prefer? I`ve asked that before, there are so many linux longtime versions outside free for a test  ;)
Some weeks ago I tested the free download with a netbook win 8.1 and a touchscreen
Preparing time: 2 hours for some updates, changing the energy options (don`t fall asleep -never), starting download - 6 hours later and 30% (went to bed) , next morning before lunch: 80% - 18 hours later: download finished, but 2 hours more to install windows 10 and answering a lot of questions (no, you are not allowed to send reports home, store my profile  or send me informations about things I`m not interested without asking), than one more hour to control the settings (apps I don`t want or their rights) and 2 more hours searching and install a new driver for the old printer/scanner ....
Now the seldom used netbook work fine, but not better than before  >:(
And why should I start that again with my other windows vista or windows 7 (home or ultimate) versions?
Next week there`s an update for win 10 and wasting nearly one day of my life to be up to date?

Nooooooooooo - Win 7 is fine and perhaps I`ll by next year a cheap oem-version-cd of win 10.1 or what ever it`s name is and better spent some hours with a free linux version on my not mobile terminal pc to find a better software  :D

just move with the times. i know we never asked for any of this. but **** it, if it makes accessing the world via your computer easier and more efficient, just think of it as a convenience. you're a philosophical wire head

and linux is for hippies
