Living In The Rose
« on: October 14, 2014, 08:54:25 PM »
Tonight I found myself wanting to remember what being in love felt like - in a nice way not "woe is me" shit.

I listened to the this song for the first time in god knows how long - probably the last gig I heard the guys play it at.

It's perfect and it's fracking Gorgeous.

If NMA are known to the wider world at all it's probably because of Vengeance or some other lairy song. That's not fair because this is the Yin to the Yang, the White to the Black or whatever...........  ???

At one of the London 30th gigs Mr S said that if you'd made it there that night (snow and travel chaos stuff) you were a Romantic. Seems that is yet another truism  :)

Couldn't find an official link to post (even though there was a video for it - Jennifer Lynch directed or was that HCTW?) so this will have to do:

Totally agree Living in the rose is a brilliant song Definitely one of my favourite slower songs . I've got to add brave new world 2 and summer moors off the top of my head to list. Its good just to sit back and listen and be transported to other place. Would say I've only truly been in love once and that's with my current girl friend even though I've been married.
Maybe that's too much of an admission for this site but I've made it now lol

"*******" does not really fit with "gorgeous"........................especially for a NMA song.

Indeed it is nice to be transported and I don't think it's ever too much of an admission to say that you love someone -should be heard more often  :)

Went through that album afterwards - quite a lot of good stuff on there!

Excuse me for getting emotive and passionate about something that made me feel really good. Guess my white trash Chatham Chav roots show through sometimes to betray me to my social betters. Post now amended

We are having Living in the Rose as our wedding first dance, it had to be the Army for me, it couldn't of been anything else:)

A girl next to me, at the 2010 (São Paulo, Brazil) gig was begging me to speak to Justin, right below him on stage to play this song, also one of my favorites (great drum sound too!); and I love that "Love Of Hopeless Causes" LP. Yes, I used to have the Brazilian pressing! Now, where did I put it?!

Just found the video on you tube :

No official link but if it makes the ultra-purists feel better then either in my loft or Mum & Dad's is the original 4 song video tape thing I bought  :  ;D

Sorry Simon but having watched that I was right (we're all adults  ;D) it is ******* gorgeous. :-*
