NMA bootlegs wanted.
« on: April 04, 2014, 10:32:58 PM »
I have recently started looking for bootleg recordings of my favourite artists: I find that some of the old shows are helping me to appreciate the music better - and that is certainly the case with NMA.

Apart from the variances inherent in live performance, the chatter between some tracks is really interesting and with the various official live cd's available, that is generally removed.

Anyway, I'd appreciate assistance in tracking down a few elusive bootlegs and hope I can get some friendly souls to help me out.

I hesitate to compile a 'shopping list' - but it's really quite short considering the massive archive of material available. If anyone is able to help me out, please send me a PM and I'll contact you privately. Cheers.

Have you checked out the Symphony of Ghosts blog? An Excellent source of rare NMA live gigs and demos:

That site is all but dead now, all the links seem to be defunct.

Besides - the few shows that I am interested in are not on that blog.

Bootleg covers may be quite confusing at times. In earlier days when this noticeboard was a bit different, somebody posted a link to another site containing information about NMA bootlegs too. I remember that there was some old days gig 12" which had zombies in its album cover.  ???

Thanks Blink for the link.

I recently put Nottingham 1989 on my iPod and enjoyed it, so figure I'll enjoy other shows if I can.

After looking around for a while I've come up empty on the following:

Nottingham 1987/04 - Available as The Longest Day
Bonn 1988 - FM Broadcast and record
Brixton 1990 - ?

Each of the shows listed above have had tracks used on singles too.

I have a couple of bootlegs from San Francisco that I need to post up here...

Need to splice up on of the big files though into individual tracks.  ::)

Also I have some of SoG ones downloaded so I have to see if any are the ones you listed...

There seem to be a few from various performances at the DNA Lounge, and are fairly recent. The older shows that I am interested in (although not exclusively) are indeed proving to be difficult to source.

If you find splitting a show into individual tracks too time consuming, consider posting it in fewer parts.  8)
