Rail travel over the Christmas period
« on: December 19, 2017, 08:18:24 PM »
A few words of advice for anyone travelling by rail over the Christmas and New Year period

As you know Network Rail and the associated companies do major works over the Christmas period and this year is no exception ( I'm working at Derby on Christmas day and Boxing Day, which isn't on the calendar on the attached article for some reason)

Hey, mate, I'm coming from Crewe to Nottingham (changing at Derby) on the 23rd, coming back (and also changing at Derby) on Christmas Eve, do you anticipate any problems with that scenario?   :-\

Hi, Red, Do you think Nottingham to London will be okay on the 24th?I have no notification of a ticket change yet? I have just never been in UK on the 24th to 26th. I am aware of shut downs  on xmas and Boxing day so it is not concern for me. Just getting there. Will 27th be back up and running ?
Where I'm from is not my home, and neither's where i'm bound.

Hey, mate, a slight ballache getting from Derby to Nottingham on the 23rd and back again on Christmas Eve (the latter due to some completely crap advice in Nottingham from the woman on the ticket desk, so got stranded in Derby for three hours!) but the awesome gig was worth it.

All the best for the New Year!
