Afternoon all,
Not long now until the beginning of the mini-tour starting in Glasgow next week. As with the last time the band played up here, a bunch of us will be meeting up in The State Bar on Holland Street for pre-gig refreshments. It's only about 150 yards away from The Garage and is a cracking old school city centre pub, with a good range of real ales (usually at least eight on the board) as well as all the usual stuff. Plenty of space and seating too.
If The State is 'too far' for you to stagger, then both Broadcast and Nice n' Sleazy (across the road from the Garage), are cool in a hipstery kinda way.
One thing to mention though, don't get too refreshed before the show as the security can be a wee bit on the arsehole side at times.
The Garage itself is a pretty decent venue though, the bar is terrible mind....standard venue bar really!
As with most places, it being a Friday night, The Garage has a disco for the young un's on afterwards So I'd expect it to be an early start / finish.
Loads of places to eat in the area, but if curry is your bowl of dhal then 'Rishis Indian Aroma' is my personal recommendation. The dosa is the best I've tasted in the UK, (very reasonably priced too).
See some of you then
