Ok now I have the new version, too. Mostly just a different background. The red on red is a bit tricky but for the most part it's fine.

Can I just say that the new colour scheme has only just kicked in on my laptop, despite the fact that I reluctantly updated Windows yesterday? 

I really rather like it, but I can understand why some folks are struggling with the red text on a reddish background...

I'm struggling with the amount of red because I'm a damn Man City supporter!

Please tell me which kind of magic i should use to have the Ping! effect.

So far i've tried to put spells on my screen, made a voodoo doll out of my browser and put needles into it and i even poured some holy water over my modem ( in germany that holy water is called "bier") and yes, i drank some of that too.
 But no colour change for me since ..

None of those options are indicative of patience. The layout will change when it's ready... (or maybe you need to refresh the page in your browser).

Thank you guys for supporting me in those dark and hopeless times! I was blind before but now i can see red...;-)

It was Johnz who made me think about what the heck FOMA means and i thereby learned a new expression. Patience was advised and it worked.
Now i want to know how i can change it back.

No, just kidding. The mobile version has still not changed and i'm just right now adjusting on my pc (Windows and Firefox) to the new look, find the red a bit demanding to my eyes, and on the mobile i have the samsung standard browser, so maybe that's why it hasn't changed there.

But curious ans stupid at the same time as i am, i would like to understand how this can be.
In my mind there is a change under the same address and so anyone who goes to that address must see the change after its done. But it doesn't work like this obviously.
I tried to log in and out, tried to go to the homepage and then go to the board from there and in anay case in my understanding it should have been the same address anyway.
It seems to be a browser thing, but i don't get how that can be.

Anybody who knows how these things work feel free to enlighten me, but i also can live without the answers and the wondering how these magics work.
