What horrible news. If noone's hurt, it could be worse. I send my best love and wishes to all the band and Joolz, and hope that the fire in the heart will overwhelm the fire that destroyed those special things

Latest news via Joolz on Facebook half an hour ago or something......

OK - the boys have been let into the studio and anything uncovered in the face of the blaze was destroyed, including a wall-mounted rack of beloved old Les Pauls, SGs, Lowdens etc reduced to a charred twisted mess. All the studio recording equipment, the Hammond, the WASP, the harmonium, Robert's remaining Slingerland drum kit, much of Michael Dean's kit has all gone too. But - some of the touring gear which was in hard cases may be salvageable (we have to see what the luthier says about the cased guitars) although its all soaked through. The bag of lyrics has been found and may with care be saved. There is hope, folks, and never forget, it's only stuff and can mostly be replaced, no one was hurt, and that's the most important thing. Thank you again for your kind good wishes. And thanks to the fire service for being, well, brave and generally wonderful.....

I'm sure Ben will do everything he can to save what can be saved....... Wish him luck, he's goin' to need as much as he can get! :-[

Shocking news, the only blessing is that no one was hurt. I gladly offer my Yamaha 9000 Drumkit and all cymbals if all the kit was lost, also any physical help cleaning up etc, not much consolation in the face of such loss I know,

I've also offfered to help in any way,I'm only about an hour away so it's no trouble getting over and can give anyone else a lift from over here if needed,I'm near Scunthorpe.

Cheers

It's awful, who would have thought this last weekend?
Everyone had a good time in Amsterdam and a week later, hell breaks loose.
Like said before: no one got hurt and that's a good thing!
Instruments are gone but no talent is gone, it's still there.

A phoenix will rise and they will return.
We can wait for a new album, we have 30 years of great songs to play and enjoy.
And when they tour - we will all be there, like we've always done!

Latest from Joolz....

Just seen the video footage from the burnt-out studio - pure devastation. Terrible. Thank the Goddess no one was in there at the time it must have been an inferno. Salvage operations under way, the stuff in hard cases which had not been unpacked after the tour are looking good, but man. the rest is just a twisted blackened ruin with all the roof caved in. So sorry for the lads.

Fingers crossed fer some glimmer of hope in the goddawful mess....

At least the original lyrics have been found, I had mentioned these to a friend on FB - While they could be reproduced at any time it wouldn't be the same would it, the original emotions that Justin was feeling when he wrote the songs would be lost, it'd be like trying to recreate a love letter, yes, you could redo it word for word but it wouldn't be the same as writing it the first time.

I do hope that they can be saved.
