I have a need for something, that doesn't appear to be available.

Questions :

How best to find out if what I'm after has already been invented ?

If it hasn't been invented; how to go about setting up a patent ?

If it looks like being something that you seriously want to pursue, I would budget to commission an IP attorney to prepare and file the patent(s) for you rather than attempt it yourself.
