Nottingham stage times
« on: November 09, 2012, 09:45:11 AM »
Just noticed from the tickets that door open at 6-30
This suggests once again that it will be an early start, early finish gig so that some students can have a disco later.
Anyone know the stage times for this one.

Entertained at the description. No doubt some on here were bemoaning the start of the alt disco in the 80s due to some 60s band over running.. Though i'm sure the early start reduces baby sitter fees/teenage children getting up to mischief!

Ferocious Dog after the gig in Rock City, and then the unofficial After Gig Gathering at The Navigation pub, just 10 mins or so walk from the venue. Promises to be a top night all round!  ;D
Since Reading Festival '86...

Really?  I'm a bit peed off about that.  I don't like gigs that are too early, I remember doing NMA at the London Astoria a few years back  when we all had to clear out just after 9pm so we could make way for a disco featuring Rachel bloody Stevens... I expected better from Nottingham Rock City.  Mind you, I haven't been to their Saturday night shindig in many a year... I went there many a time, it used to be three rooms of diverse and brilliant rock / indie / goth / whatever stuff and now, from what I hear, it's all Beyonce and chart shit...

Anyway, now I know not to spend too much time in the Pit And The Pendulum (my favourite Nottingham pub!) and get over there early, don't want to miss anything, new message posted today saying that new recording is taking place... I hope that means new tracks are making their debut!

If there's any news, keep me posted!
And if anyone gets any update on this, really appreciate it...

Excellent news. The "student disco" has much better looking clientele and the music isn't the same old, tired alternacrap I have been hearing for twenty years.

It's not on a Friday so most of the danger of people missing pre-gig beer due to the early start is mitigated.
:) - Permasmiley - should you become pointlessly enraged by anything I've posted, look at this smiley which proves that I'm just being funny and meant you no offence personally (even though you're a dick)

To give Rock city it's due, the last time it was an early start gig they simply opend up downstairs & it wa free for all those attending the gig. Yes it was an alt disco, but such fun. Some of us are getting old you know.
This time add in Ferocious Dog & I'm sorry it will be hard top that night off this side of Crimble.
I even know a couple of folks who are coming along persuaded by the prospect of seeing FD.

Excellent.......... As long as they arewn't related they'll be fabulous then! =)
It's not musical differences after all....... Well, not the first 2 records anyway, early days they did some great songs. .......... The pop scrote crust nonesense of the later stuff is piss poor tho'......

I went to see Spear of Destiny last night at Rock City basement....they were fantastic as ever.

At the bar I bumped into Ken Bonsall, the lead singer of Ferocious Dog. He was off to see UK Subs support Rancid upstairs. What an absolute gent he is - really great to chat to and a thoroughly nice chap. As has been mentioned earlier in this thread, Ferocious Dog are playing Rock City basement after the NMA gig.......don't miss 'em! Then onto the aftershow party at the Nav..... ;) ;)
