I'll second that. The long journey into work takes half the time when the kids (and you teachers) are off school.

WW, get yourself to the Pickering steam ralley which is on until Sunday. Tale your wellies, though. I'd be there myself, but a new arrival has cancelled our summer trip this year  :) Have a great time up north. Ah, there is also a great veggie cafe in Grassington. And see if you can get to Brimham Rocks near Ripon.

Sutton Bank, not that close to where you will be but the views on a clear day are well worth it

Fish and chips at Trenchers in Whitby is a must, though as Stompy13 has mentioned a veggie cafe, I'm not sure if you are vegetarian, in which case it's a mustn't !  ::)

Agree with Shush about Robin Hoods Bay. Lovely little place with a great little pub called Ye Dolphin.

Riveaulx Abbey is a pretty impressive ruin !

York itself is also an interesting city to wander around.

I've no idea if Witch is veggie or not, but it's still a great cafe and you can take your dog in as well  :) There is also a great cafe on the way up to the Abbey in Whitby through an archway on the right, but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me...can you help me out?

Filey Brigg is another good spot to get a bit of sea air, but Filey is a bit naff as a town, though. (Hope I haven't offended anyone :-[)

Got a bit of interwap signal !

We went to Whitby and we had fish and chips at The Magpie as (recommended by Rick Stein, off the telly) and they were lovely. The piece of lemon sole Jarrad (my younger son) had would of been enough to feed all of us ! Delish !
Went on a boat ride and did the Dracula experience (of course, rude not to). Saw the Abbey, can't miss it really.

I'm not a vegimaterian, I'm a gutsy cow and will eat anything, so any food is good food to me.
Had a lovely pub lunch in Goodmanham yesterday.

Going to York later on today. Mark went there when he was younger and I've never been, nor has Jarrad. There is a cat trail/walk thing that I want to go on, so that will be good.
The cottage has a little tabby visitor which is a surprise added bonus because I'm missing my two little black cats.

Laters, taters.

what make me happy is when i met Jonathan Davis from Korn last Tuesday in Paris (Fr) i still can't believe it lol  i sometimes take photos for a Metal webzine and last week, three persons and I met the korn's singer for an itw, in a beautiful hotel. I've never been to such a place before. The itw went very well. JD is very kind, simple, cool, very very touching. I took photos during the itw and at the end i had a photo with him. I told him two simple sentences i had to tell him since a very long time. He was very touched by my words and gave me a hug i didn't except at all. I was very surprised by that and also very very touched. The three persons who were with me told me this moment was very moving. It's an unforgettable moment for me. I really hope to cross his path once again. He's a really nice guy as Munky (guitar player) and Head (Guitar player) who were also in the hotel. they're 40 or little bit more and i can say they're really better than they were in the past.

(sorry for my broken english :/

What makes me happy is reading or speaking with people who speak broken English - there is something incredibly beautiful in a Berliners or a Spaniards or Greek or anyplace out of this Monkeyland take on the English language - just beautiful.

Sparkling wine (or ordinary wine for that matter), curry, chocolate. All things that are "bad" for me.

Also, spending time with my fella. Which I think is probably pretty good for me.  ;D
