Don't ask me about shining shoes...  had a nasty situation during a holiday in Chicago a couple of years back... it turned out OK but I genuinely thought that it might turn bad... ask my mate Dan if you see him...  :(

Not a funny story, mate, but one that was a bit worrying at the time... me and my mate, during our Chicago holiday, were coming back from a baseball game, a few beers inside us, and some guy who called himself 'the shoeshine man' blocked us off and started trying to 'shine our shoes' despite repeated requests for him not to... once he got a couple of swipes on our shoes, he started demanding money and when we refused, he turned it into an angry shouting racial issue (he was a black lad...)... looked like it could turn out a bit nasty but he eventually fucked off, shouting about white people (um, a reverse racial issue?)... bit worrying if you're in the US and you have it, in the back of your mind, that guns are legal there...  :(

Anyway, this is supposed to be a 'happy' thread... my out-of-work situation looks like it might get better in the next couple of weeks... God knows I need it, cash is well tight right now...   :o

Nope, mate, only been to The Forum (cracking good venue, by the way) once, back in 2006 for Lacuna Coil.

But if you can make it to Nottingham in December, I'll do my best to stand behind you for that one!

Anyway, after being desperately and horribly unemployed for a while and assuming my references check out (which they should do...  ???) then... YAY, I GOT A JOB!!!!!

Been out of work for about eight months, haven't been able to pay the bills, money worries mounting up... such awful shit when much of the UK populace think that unemployed folk are just like those awful cunts on shows like BENEFIT STREET...

I can't believe to say how relieved I am...

Brilliant mate, very pleased for you, hope it works out. Yes, foot has improved, still a bit iffy but I have now finally stopped limping, thanks for asking  ;) :)
