Just a lovely day out where nothing spectacular happened but it was great all the same... I'm trying to spend more time with my Mum seeing as I'm at that age where many friends of a similar age to myself are losing their loved ones.  So it was just a sweet day in Hoylake and West Kirby with Mum, her husband (they've been going through some serious problems, but all was calm today) and my lovely little niece (plus said niece's Mum and Grandad)...

As I said, nothing truly amazing occurred... it was just a nice, nice day.  I wish I had more days like that.  It only takes the occasional one to make you look at this world in a better light.

Went to the SMASH AGM last night and met the new patron.....Eddie The Eagle Edwards !

Nice bloke and brilliant example of a person who pushed himself to change his life and believe in himself.

People regard Mr Edwards as a somewhat comedic character, but c'mon, who here would have the balls to do one of those huge ski-jumps?  Doesn't matter if he didn't win a gold or anything, the thought alone of simply doing it makes me go all 'squeaky bum time'

Ha!  Actually, I very rarely indulge.  But when you're playing golf and you miss the ball on the tee for the fourth, fifth, sixth time and it just keeps getting funnier... priceless!   

I don't think the people behind us were too impressed, though.
