Wish you all a happy Easter.

In Finland we have Friday and Monday holy days. I just arrived yesterday to father-in-law's summer cottage a bit norther and it's a silent and peaceful lake here. There's still 50 centimetres thick ice on it and our only neighbours do some winter fishing. We have sauna here and there's also a pair swans at the lake.

Summer cottage with 50cm of ice , think I would be staying in the sauna lol
Future kill poster came today, I've already framed it n put it up on the living room wall ,looks awesome if I do say so myself. Ordered a excellent door knocker , skulls with a Celtic circle design in the middle

Rescued a bag of bananas from the bin at school.

Banana and raisin flapjacks and banana and chocolate chip cake both doing thier thing in the oven and the kitchen smells delicious.

We got a new dog on Saturday :) :)

he's a Parson Jack Russell called Erik Winter ( Erik after the Viking from Lost Kingdom and Winter well he's white like snow and also after an album by a certain band)

He's 5 months old and Erik is completely deaf ( It can be a genetic issue with white animals)

He's settled in really well but my cat isn't too happy at the moment but sure everything will be fine.

The cat stands and hisses at him but as he can't hear she gets no reaction, we still talk to him as though he can hear but I suppose that's natural

It's going to be hard work training him without him hearing but I'm sure we'll cope :) :)

Oh, Erik is such a cute dog - it's awesome you have taken in a deaf dog!!!

Don't worry, you'll soon get used to working with him - dog mind signs and body language more than words anyway - so it will be easy enough for him. I know people who have had deaf dogs and in the end you wouldn't have been able to tell...they never stopped talking to them - but that's fine!

Good luck and I hope the poor cat will get used to him soon  :)

Just back from a week in Lisbon for our first anniversary and the housemartins have returned. The weather is beautiful and lost myself for a while watching them fly up and down the street. We have 2 nests under the eaves of our house. Sometimes the simplest pleasures are the best  8)
