So, if any of you lot are all geeky like me and having been enjoying films like 'Avengers', 'Thor', 'Captain America', 'Iron Man' and all of that... what did you make of 'Agents of SHIELD'..?

I thought it was very enjoyable.  Not a truly classic show, but it had enough funny Whedon dialogue ('sorry about the dark corner... I think there's a bulb out...') and decent performances from decent actors to make it one worth following.

Anyone?

I did watch Agents of SHIELD with my boys who enjoyed it. I've got to be honest it's not for me. I thought it was very amateurish. There were some pretty ladies in it though  8)

I'm watching Agents Of Shield, Ok I suppose. It's Marvel, what more can you say... ;)
I'm getting ready for Walking Dead season 4 on friday... 8)
Sleepy Hollow is quite good. I'm a sucker for these American series... ::)
American Horror Story back soon... :)
Tonight, as you stare at the ceiling again
With your lover turning away
Disappointment closing in
Like the walls... and you try...
You try to talk about love
And they put their arms around you
But you still feel all alone
Wonder why...

I'd like to simply say 'bump'
but while I'm here let me mention a couple that I like - now i have no TV other than vids and dvds so what do i watch?
Well I like Frasier on YouTube
I got some Doctor Who out of the library it was pretty awful - I mean the old stuff was unwatchable - real bad - the newer stuff was cringingely watchable
So that's something I don't like.
I guess really the only thing I like is Fawlty Towers Life of Brian and The Holy Grail.
I remember a movie called the Others which was very good.
erm...
well - one day i'll make a list of the recommendations here and see what i can get from the local library...so there we go - so before this falls away...
Bump!

Knieval, I take it you heard about the big Python reunion, one big show at the o2 in London..?

Much as I love the Pythons, I suspect a big cash-sucking disasterous embarassment...  :'(

As for new shows that you might like... I'm going to go along with BREAKING BAD, like so many other people... bloody loved this show.  Yes, it's hugely hyped but IMO it's one of the very few shows that truly lives up to the hype.  As none other than Anthony Hopkins said, in an open letter, it goes from being an amusing black comedy into a tragedy of truly Shakespearian proportions...

Morally dubious, certainly, but the performances are amazing, it's often funny and often shocking.  Give it a go... Netflix offers a free months trial, enough time for you to check it out and decide if it's one for you.  I suspect you might thank me for it!

I am inclined to agree with Master Ray about the Python get together.

I loved all the original stuff and the films as well as Fawlty Towers and do you remember Michael Palin in Ripping Yarns... they were brilliant.

However I think that whilst Python was exceptional and ground breaking 35 years ago I can't see it being that good all these years later. I think it will be a bit embarrassing and just a big money making exercise.

The first gig sold out in 43.5 seconds, so there's now going to be a whole run of dates at the O2...

I love MP, but even if I wasn't broke at the moment, I wouldn't be buying a ticket.  There's probably going to be no new material, according to them, and lets face it, when was the last time any of them did anything that was actually funny?  I saw SPAMALOT in London a few months back and, whilst entertaining, it certainly wasn't a classic...

I don't begrudge them for having one last payday but it won't be coming out of my pocket, thanks.

I agree its a pretty revolting thought - In fact I'm not even going to think about it any longer - just want to say thanks for the netflix tip -and the breaking bad recommendation - I've got a good ten days where I'll be nothing but working and then I'll take a browse around computer land and see if I can figure the netflix subscription - I'll let you know if I manage to watch this programme...

Oh - I thought of another movie I liked - it's called Being there with Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLaine -
In fact anything with Shirley MacLaine is gonna be good...

Any of you lot like DEXTER?  Friends recommended it to me, just watched the first two episodes on Netflix (trying to fill the gap left by my beloved BREAKING BAD) and really liked it... looks like I've got a few years worth of episodes to catch up on!

I sstumbled across "lady in black" a efw months ago on the tube and loved it. Great early Hammer feel to it and it is creepy. At least to me.
I'm geared towards the averagae rather than the exceptional.

office uk
office us

house of cards uk - mini series, fuckers doing precisely what we know they are doing
house of cards us - makes me feel that America is actually the 5th country in the united kingdom to be honest

only fools and horses

breaking bad - need to watch it again from start to finish

lotr and the hobbit

my mate colin introduced me to two movies I wasn't aware of = the lives of others and one about the badar mienhoff gang. both german language moves but absolutely stunningly good

I watch a lot of series and movies so will post more in a while once I get time to share. don't watch tv anymore. I even waited for the last episodes of breaking bad to air so I could watch them in one sitting. I can't handle all the hype and second guessing and stuff
In the age of the internet we all need to be a little more thick skinned, instead of just plain thick.
