The Nephs & the Mish last night at Brixton Academy. The venue was way too big which meant plenty of room downstairs and getting a ticket of a desperate tout for a tenner (result!).

The last time they played together here the Mish headlined and were terrible. This time I caught the last song of their support slot (boring soft rock newbie), and then the encores of Like A Hurricane, Blood Brothers, Deliverance and Tower of Strength all of which were brilliant.

But as expected the Nephs were a class above the support playing all of the Nephilim album (except Phobia) and an encore of epic tracks that lasted as long as the first bit. Tony the original bassist is back and they played a great gig. First time I've seen them play Endemonaida for over 20 years.

Goldblade are a hugely under-rated band.

yeah. everyone to their own. I wasn't in to any of the bands which included outcasts and paranoid visions. the lads like them and I don't dislike them.

Saw a band called Slaves last night who blew me away, a 2 piece with a really raw but full sound - guess you would call it garage punk.  Guitarist and a Singer / Drummer that plays standing up - never seen anyone hit drums (only 2) and cymbols so hard - Excellent new discovery will be seeing them again

Check them out below

Next up for me are the mighty Inner Terrestrials, Credit to the Nation , New Groove Formation on Saturday in Bedford
