Bearded Theory.  I'm sunburned, hungover and have had about 10 minutes sleep since last Thursday.  I bloody loved it :-)

No!  Thankfully it would seem.  Perfect festival weather this year; wall to wall sunshine  :)

Stone Roses last Sunday, I miss the 90s.  I've never seen as much overt use of white powder anywhere ever!

What, talcum powder or antacids?

Hope you enjoyed it, didn't make it to the gigs last week but saw them at Heaton Park a few years back and they were fantastic.  Bit worried about so middle-aged men trying to be 'mad fer it!' like they were when they were 20...

'Oh yeah, Made Of Stone, hands in the air and jump around!'  crack  'Oh fook, me back!'

I enjoyed it, minus talcum powder  ;D. It was fecking wet, mind; good job I'm waterproof!  I've spent so much time watching bands in the rain recently I'm thinking of investing in a wetsuit

Nice one Wezzy, you have extended this thread to family & friends  :)

As such, my youngest went to his first gig Saturday to see - The Human League. Said there were people around three times his age turning around to shake his hand surprised that he knew all the lyrics to the songs.

Wow, Shush, you didn't drag him to an NMA gig to ensure it was his 'first'... for shame, sir.   ;)

Joking aside, I remain constantly surprised at how many young folks you see at an NMA gig...  and they weren't dragged there, those kids are really into it!  How did they find out about this wonderful band?

BTW, at my age, when I say 'kids', I pretty much mean anyone in their early twenties, but you know what I mean.   :D

Great music will always find a way into the ears of those who are willing to hear it.

Both of my lads have chosen the age old teenage right to rebel against what their dad likes. Personally I am happy that they have both found their own music to follow. Its all good.

Just found out that the band who are to me responsible for sending me in the musical direction that I have followed have announced a tour next year.  The band in question are The Skids who I absolutely love and have for nearly 40 years.   My kids thought something was seriously wrong when I started shrieking when I saw the gigs advertised as it's not how I usually behave.  Admittedly it would of been the ultimate experience if the late great Stuart Adamson had been in on it but 3 out of 4 of the band played in The skids in their original incarnation between the late 70's and early 80's.  Bruce Watson and his son Jamie will be fulfilling the guitar roles which I'm sure Stuart would be happy as he played with Bruce in Big Country.

Their playing dates in late May, early June and more dates in August with venues to be confirmed.  If you don't know much about The Skids their first 3 releases didn't have one poor track on them, sadly the 4th did but by then Stuart Adamson had left the band.

I can only hope Husker Du have a reunion then my life will be complete.  Joy Division and The Gun Club are never going to happen but this is up there with them  :D :D :D
