It's just perfect, one of the finest films ever.  The way that Withnail is such an utter tosser throughout... yet your heart just breaks for him at the end...

Yes. Sometimes tossers can be endearing, sometimes just, tossers. Richard E Grant such a good actor. Like a lot of great British actors , worst role State Side (Hudson Hawk), but probably his biggest pay-out. Always thought he would have made the perfect Bond villain.

Love mr Grant.  Always thought it was a crime that Mr Mcgann (fine actor though he is...) got to be Doctor Who (briefly) whereas Mr Grant only got to play The Time Lord in radio plays...

What the heck, REG was awesome in the Spice Girls movie...

Tarantinos best film.  I'd say 'Basterds' is his second best.

Love Harvey Keitel. The brief role in that film, one of his best -- now doing a good parody of it in TV adds.
Strange he always seems to be in big films, but seldom the lead. I like him in Scorsese as well as Tarantino films.
