The Damned United is an excellent film and I don't even like football!

Doctor Who was, indeed, excellent.  I'm loving the way the people who hate the idea of the new Doctor being a lady have been posting stuff online about how 'the new female Doctor is only in the Tardis for a minute before she crashes it, bloody women drivers, etc'... sort of forgetting how both Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi did the exact same thing when they regenerated...  ::)
Yeah but c'mon. A woman? Playing a mans role? Its like Mrs Doubtfire/ Mrs Brown and Tootsie in an unsettling reverse switch
Next thing itll be jobs, votes, equality and football. Outrageous I tells thee!!!

The 'Manhunt : Unabomber' mini series on Netflix is great. Also Peaky Blinders.

As much as I like Ice Cube, his acting is awful in it. Lawrence Fishburne is very very good.

Six new episodes of Black Mirror dropped today!   :D

Just finished watching the first two (in the order that they are shown on Netflix, USS Callister and ArkAngel) and... well, I enjoyed them both very much, but I was a bit disappointed by the way that both episodes rehashed concepts that were already done in previous episodes.  No spoilers here, but BM was previously a very original and unusual show... unless that's the overall plan, to bring together these unrelated stories into one big 'universe'...  ???

Can't wait to watch the rest.  C'mon, Pol, I know you love Black Mirror, you on this yet?   ;)

Ah I've only seen the first one , watched it about 2 hours ago , my opinion on first view,  very enjoyable if not outstanding,  can remember red dwarf doing a vr thing many years ago.  I'm reserving judgement for now . Black mirror has dropped in related things  (Easter eggs)  in previous episodes.

Episodes three and four of Black Mirror... NO SPOILERS!

'Crocodile' was episode 3 and, damn, was that a grim watch...  :o

Episode 4 is 'Hang the DJ' and I liked it a lot more after being so bummed out by the previous episode... this one was like the one in the previous season with those two girls in the 80's... more about humanity as opposed to technology... probably my favourite episode so far.

Think I might do the last two episodes tomorrow after I get back from finally seeing 'The Last Jedi'...  :)

Watched 'The Last Jedi' this afternoon... 'twas a fine movie.  A bit overlong and I could have done without the bloody space penguins, but a great addition to the canon, a proper epic, quite moving in places and with plenty of the action-y stuff that we'd expect.  You're right, Drummyb, it was a treat!

Just in case anyone's interested, just finished the last two episodes of Black Mirror.  Metalhead was a great action / shocker but Black Museum was deffo the best episode of series 4.  Not giving anything away, but it was like the Christmas one from a few years back, three seperate stories that really come together at the end (not to mention plenty of shout-outs to episodes from the whole of BM)

Just trying to pick a movie to greet the New Year with...   :-\

The Book of Eli. Great film. Love watching Denzel Washington.
