The Big Lebowski.God knows how many times I've seen this film.I don't remember a movie has it's own festival organized by it's fans and it's still surviving after 20 years since it's released.Even there was a store in Manhattan NY called The Lebowski Shop.Sorry to hear it doesn't exist anymore.A cult film with great characters and acting.Needless to say about script and quotes.

Tomb raider - I thought it took it's self a bit too serious at times . Preferred the Miss Jolie film  - maybe in this pc world that's not possible. A good enough movie tho .

I gave 'Annihilation' a go, big budget sci-fi flick that's got released to cinemas in the US and China recently, but was sold to Netflix in Europe, hence watching it from the comfort of my sofa!  From the writer of 28 Days Later, Dredd, Ex Machina, Sunshine.  Pretty good film, kind of deep and cerebral (but with some pretty gory stuff in there as well), a bit slow in the first half but the last half hour is quite mind-blowing.  Worth a pop, IMHO.  Trailer here...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89OP78l9oF0

On the basis of the films youve mentioned in that post, I'll give it a watch definitely.

You should, hope you enjot it, like I said it's a bit slow in the early stages but it rallies well.  The writer is Alex Garland, who wrote my favourite novel ever, 'The Beach' which was turned into a poor film adaptation, a rare duffer from Danny Boyle.  That's a book well worth reading...  ???

Just finished watching "Afflicted". A found footage horror film. A very good modern take on the Vampire theme.

... a rare duffer from Danny Boyle. ...
That's what scares me, he can be hit or miss. Why scared? I am the biggest 007 James Bond fan on planet Earth and the news broke a day or two ago that Danny Boyle will be writing the next Bond film. I know he is a capable director but writer?

I hope Boyle can do something with this:

Yes, agreed; the novel was great (bloody, sweaty, violent and shocking) and the film was.... Well, it was about a kid going on holiday and at the end a man shouted at him, so he went home.  Shite.

Ha, Jack!  It always annoyed me that ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***.....

the end of the book went all 'Lord Of The Flies' in a rather gruesome fashion and the film ended with the main character looking at a picture of all his old chums jumping in the air as if 'wasn't The Beach a whole bunch of fun?'   ::)

Just watched 'I, Tonya' again, that film about the whole Tonya Harding thing from the 90's.  I have utterly no interest in ice-skating / figure skating but it was a bloody good film, great performances, well made, worth a look.  Red band trailer here, kinda sweary...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuDQOMICfr0&t=50s

Just watched 'Dunkirk' and Darkest Hour.Dunkirk is a good film.Sound is really great and amazing.Worth seeing.Dont want to jump into political issues.Liked the Darkest Hour also. But the strange thing about the film with me is,Churchill's speech took such place in my memory with Iron Maiden's Aces High.Whenever I hear that "we shall never surrender'part the Aces High riff plays in my head. :)

Gave an episode of the superb 'Black Mirror' another watch, 'Hated In The Nation', just great...

Loved Annhilation MR.  Actually found the beginning sets the tone well. Not sure about the cgi at the end but a pretty good film  :)

Just watched 'Dear Dictator'.  Blimey, after decades of trying, Sir Michael Caine has finally managed to make a film worse than 'Jaws - The Revenge'.  Honestly, it's awful... trailer here.   :-[
