About to start watching The Sopranos,having a beer with a mate of mine who could'nt believe i have never seen it.He brought around the whole lot on DVD............wow cannot believe how many discs there are, so here goes..

I also have never watched The Sopranos, picked up the DVD of the first series for buttons ages ago, been waiting for the perfect chance to watch it, never got around to it...    keep me posted as to what you thought of it.

Where I am from -- New York City -- "The Sopranos" is like a religion.

Yes, "The Sopranos" has reached iconic status, and not just in New York/New Jersey; but I will say that HBO actually had better series. "Boardwalk Empire" is a far better gangster program. That's the one you folks should be sitting down to binge watch. "Sopranos" had weak moments, "Boardwalk Empire" never did.

Well Master Ray and all you other people who have never watched it ,i strongly suggest you do.Watched 2 episodes (paused for later with Jools ) what tosh that turned out to be.Back to the matter in hand if the remainder is like episodes one and two ,brilliant.I am truly hooked,it is a bank holiday here in Jersey today (Liberation Day)............i think i know what i will be doing........will update after watching more episodes.

Im on the last episode of Band of Brothers. Good series. I think it followed on from Private Ryan. Not sure itd have the same impact now.

Watch the follow up: "The Pacific." You decide for yourself, but I and most other viewers feel it is far superior to "Band Of Brothers." No doubt, "The Pacific" is far more brutal and horrifying (as that theater was during the War).

I gave French flick 'Revenge' a go, seeming as The Guardian seems to be going on about it a lot at the moment (great reviews on other credible news sites as well)... the French do seem to be rather good at making proper hardcore horror movies!  Basically a big old revenge flick (hence the title, I suppose...) but really well-made and acted and with ludicrous amounts of the old claret spilled around.  Trailer here, it's proper red band stuff so do not click on if you're squeamish...

I watched a preview of all songs before and then the voting last night
My thought was Cyprus is the winner and my voting I want to be next were:
Sampson - Austria and such a soul song?
Waylon - Netherlands and such a coutry song?
AWS - Hungary and such a metal song?
Schulte - Germany with a man in yeans and a black shirt without a stage show ...

Always nice to see you back, Anna!  Is Homeland worth carrying on with?  I got to the end of series 5 and just didn't bother carrying on.  Always thought the first two series were brilliant, didn't like the third much but it did pick up once Brody was out of the scene... perhaps I should pick it up again?
