I've been reading a biography by Patti Smith.

I think it's quite good and it's centered to people and a period I don't know much about. But besides music, there is another story line or topic inside the shelves that is interesting too: it's about fine art and how Patti and her boyfriend would had succeeded as artists in 60's and 70's in the States.

Just re-read 'Lost In Music' by Giles Smith, a brilliant book about loving music and being in no-hoper bands... highly recommended...

It's especially amusing when he finds himself on tour in Germany with a band called The Cleaners From Venus with a fellow Colchester musician called Nel... who, as he puts it, 'later found himself involved with New Model Army'... sound like anyone we might have heard of?

My missus is reading that also. Keeps quoting me bits of it, but looking forward to reading it myself when she has finished.

Just finished a book called Ready Player One by Ernest Cline it's a story set in the future in 2044 but as loads of 80's references from films, music and computer/arcade games. I think any geeky types who remember the 80's will love it. :D

Bought it today, looking forward to getting stuck into it over the weekend... although I'm interested to how it differs from 'No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish', his previous autobiography... any opinions from those who have read it?

Started Nick Cave -  "And The Ass Saw The Angel"  - I don`t smoke mushrooms, perhaps he did while writing it ;)
But it was not a mistake buying it ...
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?
