Saudi Arabia is the most powerful country on Earth. They ask us to jump, we say 'how high'. They pull their funds out of the western world, the rest of us turn into a ******* Mad Max movie. Thanks to oil.
Damn, why can't the western world start putting money into 'alternative fuels' so we can negate the need for oil and tell them to **** off once and for all?
Oh yeah, that's right, because a tiny minority of Western cnuts who have BIG shares in the oil companies (and God forbid we should stop people who already have more money than they could EVER spend from making MORE money) wouldn't like it very much...

Completely agree. Most areas of the world where our energy comes from are volatile, let me add Russia to that list as well as Iraq.
Problem is, what alternatives?
Renewables like wind, that is stopped by landowners and nimbys plus is expensive, nuclear which is campaigned against by the Greens et al, Fracking which is picketed at every turn. The French just build nuclear and support it with other energies, the Germans sensibly have gone back to coal as part of the mix (which wont happen here as naughty coal is "dirty"). Our energy is a political football kicked back between the left and right, in my opinion self reliance and pragmatism are a millions light years away from the discussion.
So we need to start making our minds up very fast or some very nasty people including the Saudis will turn it off, or make us beg. I'm not happy with either option!!!!!!
