Honours list means nothing and hasn't since the politicians saw it as a way try and show they're "down with the common folk". Politicians are so full of shit they'd give a gong to a singing dog if it was flavour of the moment - although a singing dog would be more worthy than most that get rewarded.

Seeing a whole bunch of those f-ing 'fire lanterns' things from my window... yep, let's set something on fire and send into the sky, not caring where it lands and what potential damage it might do because I've got to do a big quasi-spiritual bullshit thing about 'sending my thoughts and prayers out there, blah de blah ARSEBOLLOCKS!'

OK, the latest arsebollocks by silver-spoon-fed, rich boy, dead-pig-botherer Cameron's speech today about how 'there is no link between welfare cuts and poverty'...   >:(

Seriously?  Can anyone actually fall for this shit?

Well, possibly, Mr Cameron himself...  It's entirely possible that Cnuteron actually believes all this nonsense. After all, he inhabits a totally different conceptual universe from most of us. Poverty is unimaginable, literally, to him so there's no conflict between slashing the services and the incomes of the poorest and preaching about "improving life chances".   Looking further into it, his starting salary for his first job (that he had no real qualifications for or experience in) was £90K per year. His mother in law, sitting on the board of Carlton (UK media company), placed him in that job. The Queen, a distant cousin (fifth cousin, once removed) , put in a good word for him to get his gig with the Bloody Tories.  These are facts, feel free to look them up...

He's also talks about the new 'affordable housing' that the government want to build in the London area (for first time buyers) starting at £400,000...   ::)

Back to the 'no link between welfare cuts and poverty' thing... I truly believe that The Tories have taken George Orwells brilliant novel '1984' not as a cautionary tale about how power can corrupt and how the media can distort the facts, but as a bloody instructional manual...

Anyway, I'm sure ldopas will be back to tell me how wrong I am, all I can say is... don't fall for the doublespeak.  But I know you're all smart enough to take that on board...

Quality insulting MR  ;D But you mind that heart dear boy (not something possessed by your bestest chum Davey Boy one suspects).

Lies upon lies upon lies. What these parasitical scum are doing is not inevitable it is a choice they have made. Kid yourself all you like, trust the orwellian doublespeak if it makes you feel better, believe there is no other option. But when the centre cannot hold and it all falls apart don't be surprised.

If you can get to this board then you've got google to look for yourself, you don't need mine or MR's uptight bleatings  but this is a pretty good broadbrush summary of one side of the argument:

Aw, Anna, that old ticker of mine is doing fine, thanks for the concern though.   :)

I was in a bit of a rant-y (and, yes, a bit drunk) thing after the upsetting news about Mr Bowie last night... my sentiments still stand.

Nice link.

I prefer wysiwyg links
(what you see is what you get)
and I don`t  like links
catyswii
(click and then you see what it is)
Why not waste some seconds more to type some more informations?
Not all have an unlimited or fast internet connection ...
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Ehhh, I admit I do the latter here quite often, Lotus.   :-X

I think catyswii fits when a link would get too long. Sometimes they contain just too many lines and reading posts would become messy and confusing. However, when news sites use catyswii it's not a good way.

wysiwyg, you say?

Now THAT reminds me of a band I saw a couple of times back in the 90's... rather forgotten these days but they shouldn't be... cracking good live...

Seeing as you named me i'll respond. Well in the facts that you posted you are correct. The assumption I would disagree with it all tells me you have ignored just about all my posts.

And as for the rest it is a rant. Everyone is allowed a rant no problem.

But my real issue is that you and Anna are happy to write your emotional and physical issues and tell us it is all about people and yet you have a pop about me and Davey Boy for absolutely no reason. Did you ever think of where we might be emotionally or physically when you post?

Let me tell you then that I am recovering in Stafford Hospital from a life threatening event which happened a week ago. Makes ya think don't it.
