Amandistan... I wouldn't be too harsh on Germany right now, there's some serious shit going on there.  A good friend of mine is moving out of his neighbourhood thanks to the utter EU mismanagement of the immigrant situation, ie he has immigrant folks pouring into where he lives with no thought about what they're actually going to do with them once they're there... no education for these desperate people as to the new culture that they're living in or having proper ideas about housing them... and it's causing massive racial tension, sometimes violent.  Please note, this is NOT some 'they shouldn't be there / send them all back!' post, just a recognition of the fact that people are not the same all over the world and cultures will clash... it's always been the way  :-[

Be interested to see where you heard that 'Germany wants people coming in to make babies' thing from?

I do hope you find somewhere where you can be at peace and happy, Amandistan.

Thanks, Witch, I was a bit worried in case that post was deemed 'racist'... anyone who knows me knows that that's not the case, but you have to be so careful when you talk about things like this... it's a very sensitive issue.   :-\

Perhaps I misread that - but: People of the United States Of America don`t need a visa for coming here for three month - Germans need one to visit the USA as a tourist for one week  ...
If you want to work here, you need a permission as well as other people coming outside the EU - and Germans need a permission to work in the USA, don`t they?

The baby question: we have a lot of people > 65 and less people < 15 - so not only babies, but young ones are needed to live and work here  - and respect our rules (laws, government, female rights) ....

It isn't well here neither. Germany have taken hundreds of thousands of refugees more than Finland. Still there seems to be a fast increasing and scary phenomena here where the land and people seem to be dividing into two groups. I'm sick and tired of these news because no one hasn't talked anything else in last half year or so.

I've used nicotinell and nicorette. What pisses off is the medicine firms who profit about those who cut down smoking. The more often you've learnt to smoke, the more a nicotine medicine costs to you.

That is true. I just wish it would change at some point. I was questioned when returning in my own country simply because I visited Turkey  Refugees don't bother me actually.They just want a good life like all human beings deserve. The situation is worse in Turkey(more refugees then Germany) , Greece and some Balkan countries.  What bothers me is the attitude of some Europeans. People in Syria are starving to death, It's not fit for anyone to live at the moment. Large groups of any nationality will have a few bad people. The Refugees need somewhere to live and they see Germany as the promised land.

I care a great deal about this. I saw many in Turkey and the are not treated so good there. It is no wonder they don't want to stay there. In less than a month I will be working in refugee aid. Finally doing my bit to help. I am very grateful that German has welcomed them. It's something Germans should be proud.

Good luck Rusco.

I used the patches when I gave up 4 years ago. For me they were a big help. I also used to wear them before that when flying to the States and they helped. It is offensive how much they charge for them, I agree they should be provided free by Health Services. At the end of the day it is a sticking plaster with some nicotine liquid on it.

If you struggle I would recommend snuff. It helped me before I found e-cigs. It is a nasty habit, but it did take the edge off those cravings you get in the first month or two

Snuffing it is relatively harmless. The powder goes into your nose and nicotine seeps through the skin of the nasal passage. The only problem is the mess you see when you blow your nose.
