Sunrise
« on: September 16, 2014, 09:27:34 AM »
Ok we have had separate posts about most of the other new songs, so here is one on Sunrise for everyone to give their opinion.Reading the album reviews this song seems to split the opinion of the nma family more than any other.
For me this was a instantly likeable song, a excellent dance / sing along to tune maybe in the same vein as stupid questions or bad old world and for me maybe a hint of big blue. Yes for sure it could probably find a place a place on lohc, strange brotherhood or eight. Sure it doesn't have the raw power of a angry planet or the poetic lyrical brilliance of some of other songs. Its definitely a excellent catchy song though and probably the song i would play most people first depending on musical taste of course.

I wasnt that keen on it at first. I think now its 3rd favourite off the album.
Hala (from the Anglo-Saxon word "halh", meaning nook or remote valley), until it was gifted by King Henry II to Welsh Prince David Owen and became known as Halas Owen

If I am correct that's the one with the line about "everyone having a favorite road"

It's not the strongest track  on the album but still enjoyable. It's a bit less heavy and topical.

I notice According to you is missing a thread. So i guess i am obligated to start one. ;)

Yes a very simple idea that works really well with the song. Who needs your million pound budgets. Stunning sunset proving that sometimes the best things are free and right out your window if you look properly.
Still loving the song, a real song of hope. The antidote to Angry planet.

Was a bit unsure about "Sunrise"  at first listen. It kind of made me think of "Songs of Praise" on a Sunday afternoon.
But, it has very much grown on me. Its a difficult song to get out of your head.

Same here. I've been finding myself humming that song in my head more and more.
