Aw, this one hit me in the heartbollocks... Barry Norman, UK film critic...
Might mean nothing to non-UK folks, but he was the UKs premier film critic for a very long time, presented the BBC's big film show. I'm a huge film buff and an awful lot of it is due to Mr Norman. I was a kid, watching kiddie-related films, and then his show introduced me to many films I wouldn't have otherwise watched, thus paving the way to my lifetime obsession with films of all types, old or new, good or bad... is it a bit pretentious to say that the guy shaped my life in a little way?
RIP sir. And, by the way, he never did actually say 'And Why Not?' (another in-joke that non UK folks won't get...)
