Mixing Apparently
« on: February 17, 2015, 07:30:05 PM »
So according to the dark side (I Know how I go on about that fracking place - but I'm a Sniper Assassin who sneaks in and out unseen  ;D ) mixing of the new live album is nearly done. I wonder if Mr S & Mr D are mixing or if it's popped over the water to Mr Baressi?  It's gotta' have the different versions of songs we were treated to at the Christmas gigs surely? After all the second part of BWAB was pretty much BDAW live.  Me, I want to hear/see some of the brilliant Harp stuff. What about you?

As somebody who missed the December dates, I am very excited.

The dark side would be a very fitting description of FB. It's my main ranting outlet though. :)

What is this thread about? Is this thread suggesting that a new live album release is next on the horizon? Released sometime this year? What exactly would be on it? Christmas gigs? Did NMA do a live show of Christmas songs? Can't wait to hear their version of Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

Keep up mate! NMA did some Xmas shows with lots of guest musicians doing different versions of songs plus song not usually played live. The shows were recorded. The recordings are being mixed for release. If you search the forum you'll find set lists for the December Xmas gigs which will give you an idea of what may end up on there.

Though NMA do seems to be getting into Hawkwind levels of live albums over recent years

I live in the US of A. New Model Army are in our news as much as Scottish soccer. England may be our 51st state, but what goes on over there across the pond is as newsworthy to us as what goes on in our 52nd state, Puerto Rico.

I do thank you for the fine info you provided. Didn't know NMA did Christmas shows with special guests. Look forward to hearing some of this material. Though I do think my idea of a New Model Army Christmas album would be a better release. Justin singing George Michael's "Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart"...don't you think that would be better than yet another live version of "Get Me Out"?

My 2 fave bands  ;D
Hawkwind have a live double CD out and a live double DVD coming soon. 8)
Tonight, as you stare at the ceiling again
With your lover turning away
Disappointment closing in
Like the walls... and you try...
You try to talk about love
And they put their arms around you
But you still feel all alone
Wonder why...

I would also like to see the new live album focus on the rarer tracks...

.. or, **** it, the whole thing, all 31 tracks or whatever... with new artwork of Joolz 'natch...

That'd be nice, but it seems like the documentary is something that the NMA inner circle have no control over...

I don't even know what the treble is, I don't even know what Kilmarnock is.

I do know Hibs because I read a lot of Irvine Welsh books. I will root for Hibs in the next treble. They should sign the greatest goalkeeper on planet Earth Tim Howard onto their team. Hibs then would win the treble for three straight decades.

I also like Irvine Welsh and wow i struggle to understand some of the dialect he writes in.
The treble is the league, the Scottish cup and the league cup.
Kilmarnock is a large industrial town in east Ayrshire about 20 miles south of Glasgow.
As for Hibes they are currently playing in the second tier of Scottish football ( the championship) along with Hearts and Rangers after being relegated last season, they will make the play of places for a chance to get back into the premier league at the end of the season
