My Lyrics To The "Caslen" Instrumental
« on: March 14, 2015, 06:54:54 PM »
I know Mr. Sullivan put lyrics to the instrumental piece known as "Caslen," but, and I don't want to sound egotistical, I have written far better lyrics for "Caslen."

I have improved the song "Inheritance" by adding my guitar; I have created what is now being called the best New Model Army album cover (see the other thread); and now I give you the far better version of "Caslen" lyrics (yes, these lyrics were highly influenced by Justin Sullivan's style of writing, they are just better):

"Caslen" - Nelson/Space

There's a thunder storm coming
I am wired
Riding on the M5 as we pass the moors
Caslen you rise and fall like the ocean waves.

There's a wind and rain and snow storm coming
I am wired
Driving down the A39 as we pass the Bradford chip shop
Caslen you rise and fall like the river banks.

There's a hurricane, whirlwind, stormcloud, blizzard, drought, war coming
I am wired, I am so wired
Walking down the A167(M) as we pass the valleys of Red and Blue
Caslen you rise and fall like Evel Knievel.

I have never directly criticized anyone on the board, ever, since I am of the opinion that we are all here to talk about our favourite band in an informed and occasionally light-hearted way. I do enjoy the  banter  but not, I repeat NOT, what Space has been doing for some time now.

Space, your current comment shows that you are an arrogant bastard who shouldn't be allowed to say the things that you are saying. Take your delusions of grandeur to another board and leave us honest folks alone (I wonder what the band are making of all this).

Thanks for reading,

Wilf

Hmmm. Are you sure you are aware of what light-hearted means?

You really can't read my lyrics and see them for what they are? I'll help you out...they are a light-hearted way of looking at the band NMA.
Did that really need pointing out for you?

(I wonder what the band are making of all this).

Uhh, probably chuckling a bit. Any great artist can laugh at a parody of their work.

That genuinely made me laugh.

Affectionate parody isn't an insult.

Kudos, Space, for the use of the words 'chip shop', not an expression I usually hear from US folks... if we ever find ourselves at one of those hallowed institutions, the chips are on me...

Cobblers; this is too blatant to be anything more than a pretty un-original wind-up.

And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me

In fairness Space. Its tongue in cheek and daft. I get it 😁

yes, am sure the poet / artist would agree...not.

it's designed to offend and generate comment, argument.

Personally it's trolling.

Space, give us some, y'know space. Go and troll the kylie board or somet.

we could start a poem about you,

Ahem,

'There was a troller called Space,
who trolls boards rather than face,
Up to the fact he is Mark Steven MK2.

Rotten poetry, very Tom Waits.
Bit like your Caslen lyrics.

Time to find another board to haunt I'm afraid.

On the 30 westbound to the diamond water
Lost out in the white waves - salt purification
Bright eyes and breathless - this is how Love feels

oh, and the A39 is the Atlantic Highway that hugs the north west coastline of Cornwall.
I have to concede that one, great choice. The section that takes in Widemouth bay is lovely.
Other than that you're wasting your time, take up knitting maybe >:(

and MR a as a fan, you may want to be a little choosy with what you refer to as banter / funny.
I 100% do not agree.

Texaspete... first off, I think I've said over and over again that I don't want to fall out with anyone of this Forum...

Yes, Space has posted some pretty objectionable stuff in the past... and I was one of four people that he posted some damn offensive stuff at... but he posted an apology and we've had some pretty mellow posts back and forth since then.  It's all in the past, IMO.  For the record, I have no idea what the 'Horsemen' thing is all about..?  Fill me in, perhaps?

This Caslan thing was very amusing in my opinion.  You might disagree.  Fine.

What I consider 'banter / funny'?  Have I posted something really offensive?  If so, let me know, I will apologise immediately!  I truly want to get along with everyone who posts here on a regular basis!  If not... hmmm, I'll post what I like... some folks out there are OK with it.   ::)

All the best, Texaspete...
