new album your hopes
« on: March 29, 2015, 11:28:45 AM »
Ok before i start this thread I'm in no way saying/telling nma what to do.

So the lads are about to enter the studio to start work on a album. What are your wishes for it if got your way.

I would like to see Marshall given more freedom to cut loose on the guitar, maybe a song with more keyboards kinda Rammstein ish in a nma style.
Would love a song where Justin shares the vocals with a guest singer, maybe a female someone with a really good voice maybe similar to Annie Lennox

Ok dream on as another band said.

So What's your wishful thinking

Space, I won't dignify that with a response...

What next?  Who knows... NMA have said that BDAW was such a progression from they called 'band in a room' albums. Wouldn't themselves going 'back to basics' be an enormous step back?  I know a lot of bands do that after a bit of diversity that didn't go down well with the fanbase... but BDAW is in my (and a lot of other peoples) opinion, an utter highpoint in their thirty-plus years that went down so damn well wherever and whenever... where to, next?

I'd love to see the lads continue to twist and stretch their usual sound into something that we haven't heard before... what do I mean by that?  I dunno, I'm not an immensely talented musician like all of the NMA guys are.  And if you don't like the album, then heck, go and see 'em live... you're never a couple of tunes away from 'Purity' or 'Vengeance' or whatever...

My worst case scenario... an album that sounds like something we've heard before, just reheated.  We've been there. NMA is better than that.

 :(

I am satisfied with everything they've done.
However, if there's something I'd like to hear more it's the awesome synth compositions that Dean White have arranged on couple of last albums. With that, it would be nice to hear more that great virtuosity Marshall is known for. I love the way he does those "western" and echoey sounds in live songs such as Attack and Lean Back & Fall.

I am very happy with the intense way they've seemed to explore the songs at rehearses and studios.

Well, unless Ceri ends up doing a stretch inside on a GBH charge against you, I can't see him leaving NMA any time soon.

Markxe - wise words, I can't read the lyrics anymore either  :)

As ever, I just wanna hear whatever comes next. But I do like the idea from Pol about co-vocalists. I think that could be really interesting.

If they do choose to have a female co-vocalist on a track, Sozbot would be perfect for the job.  ;)

I just received confirmation that the live CD just shipped, so I'll be focused on that for a while.  I don't really expect the band to put out an album every year or so, but if they do, then great.  Can't say I expect anything or am looking for anything specific.

I'm willing to take it as it comes on this one.

There are many bands who I would love to have a hand in what they do next, but I am prepared to let NMA have this one. If I could say one thing I personally don't mind them taking their time and coming up with the best work they can.

I would, however love a new Justin Sullivan solo album.....

I'd quite like a largely acoustic album, or one that's acoustic rhythm guuitar-led, at any rate, with a fairly dry feel production-wise; that said, it's not my choice and I'll buy whatever the band releases, as I firmly believe that bands should make the music that they want to, not what their fans want.  NMA didn't get where they are today by making the same album multiple times over and I wouldn't want them to start now.

Me too, but just to have another album would be great 8)
Tonight, as you stare at the ceiling again
With your lover turning away
Disappointment closing in
Like the walls... and you try...
You try to talk about love
And they put their arms around you
But you still feel all alone
Wonder why...

I was thinking an acoustic album would be a Justin S solo album, the band should make a full band album I would say... :)

I have to say since the 30th anniversary shows here in Brooklyn if I am correct was almost 4 years ago NMA  has put out 4 albums 2 live and 2 studio plus the Touring so I have to say  that I am more than satisfied in whatever they put out next My hopes are that it still rocks and Kicks ass Like NMA songs usually do. 8)
