Something that made you smile or laugh today..?
« on: April 17, 2015, 07:01:46 PM »
... anything at all, no matter how silly or trivial... I'm sure something like this has been started before but it seems to be lost in the fog of this Forum, so let's start again...   ;)

For me, after a rather sad thing (see a different thread), I popped into my local insignificant town centre to get a few bits and pieces... and found myself meeting Eddie Izzard...

General banter with my mate who was some Ames taping ( its filling in the gaps on plaster board) told him he couldn't tape using sky plus.

While I warned a new worker at my job about our chief's dog running around the house that he might urinate somewhere in the warehouse, and suddenly an older working mate pops out behind a shelf - and I said HE might urinate somewhere. This caused a lot of fun of course. I laughed nearly 5 minutes after it.

The tory party were in town today, they had a small stall set up at the cross.
I just shook my head and laughed and thought best of luck with that

A Finnish populist party called the "Perussuomalaiset" that have caused some minor panic among EU do not like a basic way we call them with a shortening as "Persu". That's because it's nearly same as like "Perse" or "Persus" which means ARSE in Finnish. ;D

Well, they've chosen their name so what are they whining about? Hehe.

I was talking to a mate I used to be in a crappy local band with... we played a few times at a now deceased (and sadly missed) club called The Limelight.. where JSAF played once and, to my shame, only drew about 30 people...  :-[

We used to pull in a couple of hundred people!  Granted, insanely drunk friends, but still...

Pah, those NMA types...  ::)

I'm hearing every evening shouts up from the trees that says:

Fukinasshole! Fukinasshole!

It's the Song Thrush (turdus philomelos) singing. ;D

There are lots of thrushes everywhere here during this time of the year. Unbelievable and funny cacophony.

Thought i would swap some tea bags around today. We have all these labelled up tins containing the appropriate loose tea bags from earl grey, to lemon, to tea bags that need milk and ones the would never really be taken with milk.

As soon as i done this i walked out of the kitchen just as the lead salesman and some important customers walked in.

I heard the salesman say 'Right then, first thing is first....who wants a tea'.

It did make me laugh.

A very stubborn lamb who has learned to jump over the fence. I come back from a hike and see this lone lamb just leap over the fence while all the rest of the herd just stay put.  He's a really little bastard, not even food makes him go back in.
Where I'm from is not my home, and neither's where i'm bound.

I very nearly mistakenly sent forty people half way across Cheshire today thanks to a simple 'cut and paste' Excel mistake...  ???

Oh, what the hell, I'm new at this job!

I've been laughing to something that occurred here in Everything Else years ago:

You know, I'm a so-called "twitcher" so birds are a hobby to me. I try to recognise as many species of them as possible, take photos of them and I have many books of bird species and some cd's about their singing...ok?

Well as I'm not a native English speaking I didn't know there's another meaning with the word "bird". Ok, so once here I told how I love to "feed the birds at our yard at winter", and that there's plenty of them, like fourty at the same time. ;D Well, Stoney replied to me in a bit angry way: what the f*** was I talking about? And this smiley:  ???

I didn't know the word has a dirty meaning too! ;D

Ha, brilliant!

I just love the way the word 'fanny' has very different meanings between the UK and the US...
