Haven't listened to anything else for a full week now - love the variety and sheer adventure of this.
Having been a fan for over 30 years, I think Winter and BDAW are probably the two most interesting 'full' albums, back-to-back, that they've produced for various reasons. I fully admit to thinking such was an impossibility at this stage in their career and with such a fantastic history which had already set the standard high. Is it because of 'fresh blood', Justin's constant evolution as a songwriter and musician or simply the 'perception', or otherwise, that they are going from strength to strength. Whatever it is, it is magnificent - both on stage and in the studio.
Born Feral is simply a mesmerising masterpiece which stops you progressing to Die Trying, because you keep going back for more and more. In fact, I must have listened to it about 20 times in a row before I ventured further. The only other songs that did something similar to me back in the day were No Rest, Here Comes the War and Headlights.
Other standouts from the very first listening are, well, quite simply, the rest of the album minus Beginning, although it has certainly grown on me since.
This album gives hope to us all - there certainly is life after 50!
