I`m one of the oldies, too
Wanted to go to a festival with Ten Years After and Jimi Hendrix - my parents didn`t allow that
They (and I) didn`t know, that it was the last live gig of Jimi (music of apes coming out and on a stage because of a banana - and I was too young to jump out of my closed room at home to try to be there)  ;)
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

That was a really "perfect" festival

I wasn`t there - still not sure I was too young to manage the problems beeing there or not
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

I'm geared towards the averagae rather than the exceptional.

Big 50 this year. First time seeing the army was tiny grotty upstairs club in Folkestone in I think 83 or 84 (still at school then lol..) been seeing the band since then. Me and the better half have been doing an annual Christmas pilgrimage to the Notts gigs for the last few years. Looking forward to New Day Festival appearance as only 20 minutes from home lol!!!!! Welcome back to Kent!! Think last time you were this far south east was tour warm up gig at tunbridge wells forum in I think 2000.

Anyway been a lurker on this board for years and thought time to say hi, so hi!!!

Peace and love to everyone

Andy

So many youngsters.....
I'm 52 and first time I saw them was at Brockwell Park in London Aug 1984. Went to see Spear and The Damned and fell in love that day.

I turned 44 on the 25 March and I had my first Thunder and Consolation tattoo on my left shoulder and a nice version of it with some leaves around it to make it more mobile and looked less like a stamp. great work of my friend Mehmet here in Berlin. Best to all. Simon

Congrats on the new ink , also have a t&c tattoo tho mine is more a "stamp" as its a exact copy from the cd , got it 20 years ago when tattoos weren't what they are today, was done by the legendary Terry in Glasgow( rip) who's tattoo studio still bears his name to this day and is now run by his granddaughter

Hi Sniffer,I too first saw them at Brockwell Park.30 mins that changed my life.Got vivid memories of that gig though a lot of the more recent ones are a bit more blurred(alcohol or senility?probably a bit of both)
I remember they were not allowed to play an encore due to festival timetable and the crowd was livid. The d.j. played vengeance again to try to calm them down but it just frustrated them more. The next act(I think it was The Fall)were canned throughout their set.
Spent the next few weeks trying to buy Vengeance only to be told by one shop that it hadn't been released yet ::).
Oh,nearly forgot,I'm 54
