I'll Give Credit To The British
« on: April 22, 2018, 09:11:24 PM »
Right now I am watching my beloved sport of auto racing. Raining like hell in Alabama where the Indy cars are supposed to race...so they red flagged the race. No race. Not only that, there is no crowd there. Rain shuts us down here in the U.S. of Trump. It makes us whine and b!tch and just give up.

I have noticed the British do not let the rain affect them at all. I have seen races at Silverstone or Brands Hatch held under monsoon conditions. The race goes on, the people are in the stands enjoying themselves. And of course I have seen all those outdoor music festivals you Brits have. It seems to rain 99% of the time for those things. No matter. The bands take the stage and give it their all...and the crowds have a great time. Rain? What rain?

Good show, Brits. You may not notice, but as an outsider I can tell you that you guys are completely oblivious to bad weather.
(I often wonder why that is so.)

It rains so much "up north" that we have to carry on,or nothing would happen. The snow, however seems to bring schools, roads etc into chaos.
don't whack the snakes...

Ahh. See, we are the opposite. We have no problem at all with snow. In fact, a general good feeling comes over everyone when it snows. Brings out the little kid in all of us and is a reminder of fun, innocent times. Rosebud, if you know what I mean.

My home Island of Jersey must be the worst place for reaction to snow, first of all it hardly ever snows, but if/when there is a threat warnings on the wireless and t.v.,schools close,do not travel unless necessary,.You look out of the window and there is a light dusting of snow, goes as quickly as it came, panic over........Then photos in the local rag for next 5 days or so.....pathetic. :)
