B-Sides and Abandoned Tracks came out in 1994
Is it time for another collection or is something else available?

Yes, the "Lost Songs" compilation is actually one of the better releases that New Model Army ever put out. There are some incredible songs sprinkled throughout the two disc set. You will discover them. You'll also discover some clunkers, but the extremely high quality of the good songs sure outweighs the weaker songs. It's a fantastic set.

Third installment - official NMA/JS rarities CD collection...

Just how many NMA/JS songs do we know for certain are out there, in existence, that have yet to be officially released?  I only know of the following ones...

Are there others?  I've been out of the loop for too many years, roughly seven, to be exact.  Please, feel free to jump in here and let me / us know which other songs are missing.  Where possible, please include a link?  Audio or visual, doesn't matter.  :)  Thanking you in advance.  x

Turn Away has never seen official release.  Apparently they have had a few stabs at recording with the full band but it but never made the grade.  Such a shame as it is one of my favourite songs.

Turn Away  has never seen official release.  Apparently they have had a few stabs at recording with the full band but it but never made the grade.  Such a shame as it is one of my favourite songs.

Wow, Belza!  Hats off to you for hand-picking, selecting such an incredible performance of Turn Away, as performed by Mr. Sullivan and Mr. White!!  :D

Though I know and LOVE the song very well (I know it from the Justin Sullivan & Dave Blomberg release, "Big Guitars In Little Europe"), I had absolutely no inkling whatsoever, that NMA had ever attempted to run through it and record it as a full band.  I really appreciate you mentioning this.  :)

Although it might not have made the cut as performed by full-blown NMA, as a 5-piece electric force / unit, I have a gut feeling it might be better suited for that orchestral, symphony project their working towards.  I'm more-like hearing multiple violins and cellos, added to it, for starters.  I'm not sure how hard 'n heavy drums would add or factor into the song, without killing, impeding or stifling it, but I definitely do still hear percussive instruments in there, somewhere... just of the softer variety.  Not an in your face kind of pound, sound (from the drums) but moreso a subtle, subdued kind of guide throughout the tune, a kind of beacon, if that makes any kind of sense.  (Man, I fcukin' suck  BIG TIME, at articulating... seriously!  Honestly!  I'll never get the hang of it, hard as I might try.)  :-[

I think the guitars are absolutely perfect just the way they are, and where they are in the song.  I'd build up every other instrument around them and the vocals.  Not so much as a cushion, or to cushion to tune, but to further propel, lift and carry it.  Something I'd strive for, though, is that I'd mess with the command, intensity and impact of audible volume, for sure, that would be coming from each of the actual instruments involved, as well as the vocals, themselves.  Hmmm, this (what I'm trying to say) is so tough to relate to another, get across to another.  I'm not sure if you (or anyone reading this) can understand me here, but have you ever seen a live symphonic performance?  In person?  Don't get me wrong, I'm in NO way a musician.  I might've messed about with a number of different instruments in my younger years, played in the school band, but that's it.

Anyway, the music, like the sea, swells are recedes, in and out, lulls back and forth.  One second it's soaring onwards and upwards to kiss 'n greet the 'GODs' and the next, it's feathering downward, gently, sweeter and softer, and even softer still, all the way down, 'til you hear nothing but complete and utter silence, stillness.  That's an effect, characteristic of an acoustic instrument... I believe.  I think once you're plugged in, you need special gear to coax and conjure that kind of thing from an electric instrument.  But of course, I could be SO far off the mark with this, because as I stated earlier,  :(  I am in NO way, a musician... nor do I pretend to be.  I do love classical / orchestral music though, very, very much.

As per usual, I was a bit long-winded there, sorry.

Turn Away
For me, it is ok without a full band - I prefer a stripped down version The lyrics are too emotional to make a blown up orchestral version out of it!
Dawn works with a hardrock version, but please, both songs never in a "classic" string or so version!!!!!!
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?
