Post by: Guillaume on April 07, 2020, 11:45:13 AM
2000-2020...from EIGHT to the year of the 40th birthday of NMA...twenty years so why not twenty songs to choose?:

Which are your twenty favourite songs from EIGHT, CARNIVAL, HIGH, TODAY IS A GOOD DAY, BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF, BETWEEN WINE AND BLOOD, WINTER and FROM HERE?

Without thinking too much about it mine would look something like this:

Someone Like Jesus
Leeds Road 3 A.M.
Orange Tree Roads
Red Earth
Carlisle Road
Sky in your Eyes
All Consuming Fire
Dawn
States Radio
Peace is only
Summer Moors
Ghosts
Quasr al Nil Bridge
Did you make it safe
Happy to be here
Beginning
Eyes get used to the darkness
Born Feral
Die Trying
From Here
Where I am
Conversation
The Weather

Ok, that's more than 20 but I can't be bothered to decide which ones to leave off.

Well, that was brutal... went through all the albums, plucked the ones I wanted for my shortlist... that came to 53 tracks.  Managed to whittle them down to 20 and then, just for the heck of it, put them agonizingly into order of preference, one I will doubtlessly reconsider five seconds after posting, but without further ado let's go...

Fireworks Night
Angry Planet
Winter
Never Arriving
Stranger
States Radio
No Mirror No Shadow
One Of The Chosen
Born Feral
Too Close To The Sun
Pull The Sun
The Weather
High
All Consuming Fire
Autumn
Today Is A Goodf Day
Guessing
Flying Through The Smoke
Devil
Eyes Get Used To The Darkness

It's funny how despite how much I loved BDAW, only one track made the cut... thinking about it, it's one of those albums I don't listen to very often anymore, although when I do it's all the more appreciated, if you see what I mean.

Yes it's quite difficult to choose 20 songs, isn't it?
It's the obvious proof that the band has created so many incredible songs through the years!

Whoa!!  Another dilemma-swamped thread!  Right off the bat, I can tell you that I can't do just twenty.  So, I'm going to pretend I have my very own radio show and I'm doing a top 30 NMA chronological chart for the program instead.  I'm going to only pull tracks from the albums you listed.  Great thread Guillaume! :)

Just jumping in here to add official video (*) & audio links.  Enjoy!
