WDR is offering Livestream of it's program, here: https://www.ardmediathek.de/wdr/live/Y3JpZDovL3dkci5kZS9CZWl0cmFnLTNkYTY2NGRlLTE4YzItNDY1MC1hNGZmLTRmNjQxNDcyMDcyYg/.

If the link doesn't work, try here: https://www.ardmediathek.de/wdr/ and click WDR Live on the bottom left.

I also think/hope it will be available per mediathek after the screening (try either "Sendungen A-Z" and search for the title or "Sendung verpasst" and search for the screening date) .

Hope that helps...

Yes it was pretty good!! a bit too short maybe?
I liked that it had a slower pace/editing than the BDAW documentary, also maybe a more intimate feel because here it's mostly Justin Sullivan speaking (and Joolz Denby) and the city Bradford is nicely shown with lots of cool landscape shots...the opening with the "From here" music for example. I liked also the pictures of Justin Sullivan young and his family, never seen before if i am right. So good work for the people who made this documentary!

From the facebook page:
In October, we made every effort to make the 40th Anniversary Global Gathering as good, exciting, live and REAL as we could, but we were truly amazed at the positive response from everyone who saw it, even with all the connection and buffering issues. We have been inundated with requests to make a permanent hard copy of the concert available on DVD and we are now planning to do this in the new year.

Also if you go to the WDR site there is an extra 13 minutes of interviews available as well: https://www1.wdr.de/fernsehen/rockpalast/sendung/vierzig-jahre-new-model-army-uebersicht-100.html (https://www1.wdr.de/fernsehen/rockpalast/sendung/vierzig-jahre-new-model-army-uebersicht-100.html)

I was wondering if the Rockpalast documentary and/or the BDAW documentary would be shown sooner or later on the German/French tv Arte...it would be great.  Arte screened years ago the Wacken concert from 2015 and also there was a short documentary about the band in 2009 in Arte's music show "Tracks".

Rockpalast/WDR is one of the members of german tv ARD and ARD is a partner of ARTE - you sometimes find own productions of wdr rockpalast on arte (some NMA rockpalast concerts are in the arte mediathek today)- but own productions of arte on ard or their other regional members- I`ve never noticed that ....

The BDAW documentary isn`t an own production of wdr or arte - so they both don`t have the rights to publish it ?

Watched it five minutes ago, so great at all … all this pictures from the past,
small Justin with his family, NMA in the 80s …
So sad, this year, this time … how long will it take …

This documentary is fantastic! I didn't expect it to be that good, that it managed to tell "the old" story in such an interesting and well researched and written and filmed and edited way and especially with such a good pace. So many good ideas and pictures fitting the narrative and music. Like the beginning, when the camera moves close to a wall, the lyrics "from the concrete cities.." and then opening in one flow to "..to the wide open spaces.."
I liked the playful, 2.20min long collage of here comes the war from different concerts, giving the intense slow part a huge role and making it more than a short clip.
Also very intense was the moment after Justin told about the sudden massunemployment in bradford and then the footage of the strikes and demos with liberal education playing. Very intense and up to date!
A very good movie!

This audio/visual bit together in synch was brillant! kudos to the director/editor!!
The director beautifully mixed together in one shot the two sides of the band urban/gritty/realistic and rural/pastoral/poetic/romantic

To bring it full circle the Geissendörfer Production not unknown to the WDR did also produce the BDAW documentary. And the BDAW dircetor Matt Reid was mentioned in the credits for archive support in the "From here" documentary.

i watched it. not bad. despite the fact that some issues repeat if one has watched the doku Between Dog and Wolf. but cool. a lot of Bradford which is cool.

Can't believe I never posted on this thread!  Really liked the documentary and I am happy to confirm that I sent it to a couple of fellow music fans and it's turned them into NMA newbies!   ;)

and I posted only after seeing the trailer...
But the feeling from the full documentary stayed the same, pure love :) I remember I watched it when it was aired in the middle of the night, and followed by old live concerts... I'd had some tough days and in the end I was nodding off, my forehead on the table... Totally worth it.
But being NMA newbie? I'm envious... Think about all the music to discover... I took my friend some years ago with me to NMA gig in Vienna, same effect :)

Just wait until gigs are happening again and they get to see the lads in all their live glory!  Their little minds will explode!   ;D

This is NOT about the WDR documentary, it is an old clip from german TV Station RTL. Saw it the first time some days ago. I guess it is worth sharing. If it has been posted bevore: sorry.
