Good evening @ all,
I would like to see The Cure live they will be playing at the pink pop festival in the netherlands at the end of may but the homepage says there will be over 70.000 people so its a big festival to be honest I dont like such big festival for only one band I like to see :-\
So my question in which area from the UK is the Reading festival and is this festival a smaller on ?
Any help is much appreciated
Thank you ;)

Reading Festival is rather large! About 90000 capacity I think. It's not too far out from London - http://g.co/maps/yqbnp (http://g.co/maps/yqbnp)

Hi Witch
I'd just add that I read a Robert Smith interview recently in which he said The Cure's festival gigs will be greatest hits jobs to appeal to the masses...so don't expect the likes of Prayers for Rain!
I saw them at Bestival last year and they were very good but the setlist was a bit predictable. May be better to catch them at their own shows as I know you're a true fan rather than someone who's only heard of Friday I'm in Love!!
My sister and brother in law go all over the world to see them and really don't rate their festival appearances...
Best of luck though and I hope you enjoy any shows you do get to!
Best wishes
Barty

Beat me to it......... Reading n Leeds are big gigs. 75 to 90 thousand jobs....... I went to Leeds last year. Full of student twats being drunk, idiots, not really there for the bands more for the drink and stupidity......... >:(

Hi Barty and Stoney ,
thanxs a lot for your reply .
Very good informations for me I saw the Cure only one time at a festival that was in 1989 at the Loreley after that I saw the Cure live on their own shows
And very good to know about Roberts interview ...music for the masses :-\
And very good to know that the festival in Reading is not so easy ....
So in the end I dont like big festivals with music for the masses or not so easy people ....so I like to thanxs a lot to Erekose and Barty and Stoney saves me lots of money ....
And I will wait for some the Cure gigs but only the Cure
cheers Inga

They were ******* brilliant. Its been years since I last saw them play. Had forgotten what a tight band they are. The live sound was just incredible. Two and a half hours 32 songs talk about value..

Anyone else catch them at Reading or Leeds?

My older son, Bob, went to see the Bob he was named after.
He said they were brilliant.
:)
I thought the telly coverage was pretty good too.
