Title: Headliner needed for Bearded Theory
Post by: Erekosë on April 16, 2012, 01:23:24 PM
Sadly, the Levellers have pulled out of B.T. festival due to Jon recovering from surgery.  They are after suggestions on who to replace them with - I don't suppose a certain band is free that night?

As a BT customer i'd feel a bit burned, A.A is not really a replacement for the Lev's....

BT customers deserved better....

jez, Prince Charming was the first record i ever purchased with me own (pocket) money. A fact of which I am immensely proud!
I purely meant from the the obvious gulf in fanbase and festival pedigree. PRINCE CHARMING I prefer to KOTLF and love the experimental B-side. If NMA had been replaced with him, would you be AS looking forward to it?

yeee -- haa

if you're going, hope you have a good one :D

Its now sold out - so you could sell your ticket?

Or alternatively why not watch a bit of Adam Ant - and if you dont like him - go off & do something you might not usually do - see who else is on in the other tents, have a brew and listen to some acoustic stuff, 'ave it large in the dance tent, talk to some randoms - it might not be the same as watching the levellers run through the same set for the nth time - but you're at a festival - be adventurous!

I agree, oh how I remember being trolleyed in the list vagueness field at Glastonbury when it was not for readers of the Times....

You make your points well I just think that a lot of people but their tickets based on the big headliners.
For me I don't think he has the pull of the Lev's but it's only the fact I'm disappointed at the late cancellation !

I'll pop out to the dub tent and try some voodoo juice or a pint of bishops Tadger...

Well blame the Levs not BT organisers, they are just left with a massive hole in their schedule to fill at short notice.  Apparently the Levs have agreed to play next year instead (doubt it is for free though) and all things considered BT have done well to get a 'big name' to fill the headline slot in my opinion.

We've seen Adam Ant a few times lately and he's really on form. Loads of Dirk Wears White Sox songs, even 'Whip in my Valise' a couple of times. I can fully recommend giving him a chance.
