Neily - whoever you are/were... Rise Against - YES! YES! YES! Musically and "politically" they are different beasts but there is definitely some bit of common DNA thread somewhere shared between them and NMA.

I used to really like that band when "Siren Song of the Counter Culture" was released. I think i was 14 or 15 when it came out as i remember being a very shy kids and listening to at as a healthy way to release anger.

I have drifted away from them since then but i bet they are still good.

My mate is really into this band but I never looked into it...

Well, if YOU LOT like 'em, I guess that's something to check out...  ;)
