Wotta set indeed, Archway Towers, Frightened, Living in the Rose and Bloodsports. Great to meet Barty, Speedy and Kendog, great to see Belza even if you missed a very hot curry afterwards fella. Talk of which, can these become a regular post Army gig event? Bradford would be the next and where better for a decent ruby? If the band do Bridport again the Shire Hobbits will be able to help with a recommendation there. We must have curry experts in most localities nationwide surely?

Thought Ceri looked like he had been playing bass for NMA for years, so while I for one will miss Nelson, it's great for the band and the following looking forward that he slotted in so instantly. Very nice chap as well when meeting him briefly afterwards.

That is one of the best NMA gigs I have done personally for lots of reasons - the crack and camaraderie and the curry, a belting set list, a really good venue (just the right size) in a very friendly spot (thanks to the fine folks of Bilston).

Roll on Utopia if we haven't found it already...

p.s. and thanks Neily for the lift - apologies again for my sh1te navigating on the way home, dunno about navigating by the stars, navigating by the seat of our @rse...

Did anyone get any decent video that's going on You Tube?

Brilliant show (from what I can remember!) and a great night all round.  Gutted I missed the curry.  Ended up wandering in the rain for ages and getting soaked to the bloody skin.  Looking forward to Bradford all ready.  Some real old gems there and brilliant to see Bloodsports back, could never understand why it was dropped from the set.  Ceri made a cracking debut I thought and certainly the band looked at home with him there.  See you all soon.

Let's hear more reviews, the band sounded terrific and the sound in the venue was crystal clear!
such an emphatic return after some tribulations for NMA !
Frightened was a fantastic surprise the new intro was pure REM !!!

Come on the army !

Fantastic gig - loved the venue too (if not Bilston the place!). Made the mistake of going in the Horse and Jockey pub before heading to the Trumpet.....felt a bit like a very unwelcomed stranger...especially as I was on me own!

Great setlist and I thought Ceri settled in brilliantly, looking confident and accomplished.

Awesome to hear AT and Frightened - can't remember hearing them live before.

Great to meet Pazza and Steve for the first time - enjoyed the chats and deliberations over which t-shirts to buy!...and Mr Stone (for umpeenth time - always good to catch up mate  ;)).

Loved Justin's comment about NMA existing to show us lot the various different places around the world...it was priceless when he asked how many of the crowd were from Bilston and only 2 put their hands up...!

See you all soon.....couldn't make Strummercamp but hope y'all enjoy it.

Very sorry to hear of the thieving bastards....good luck in getting the gear back.

A bruised, aching but very happy Barty

Cannot believe after the fire they have yet again encountered misfortune, this time at the hands of lowlife scum! >:(

Good to hear they are still ploughing on and playing Strummercamp!

The gig was awesome!

The atmosphere, setlist, performance and people who i danced and sang with, proved yet again to be a most memorable evening.

I am a bit battered and bruised after playing with the big boys down at the front but i enjoyed every second of it!

Cannot make Bradford but will be going to Nottingham, cant wait

Loved Bilston, the venue was a blody tardis! It looked tiny outside, and opened up into bijoux medium status inside! weird. Great sound at both gigs.
Ceri played a blinder fer his first foray into the weird wild n wonderful world we have amonst us.
The pre gig meet up in Wetherspoons was great. Always good to share a beverage, slimline tonic is still not a diet drink Gayle, just sayin'!  ;)  Loads of great folks as ever.........
Big thanks to Dan' for hotel booking, our room was literaly at the venue doors!!!!!! Sadly it appears to be he noisiest hotel since faulty towers. Got more sleep in the car last night at Strummer camp. Even without air beds or any kind of creature comforts, just folded down seats in the Volvo, a sleeping bag and healthy dose of cider and exhaustion........ :D

Should have said yer daft bastard - there was a spare tent and mattress!  Still, I guess with the cider it probably wouldn't have made much difference!

We had a tent and airbeds. The weather was so crap we took the car option anyway! lol It honestly was pretty fair. Felt quite chipper at 9 45 when I woke up!!!!!!!! lol ;D

Well, I guess since I woke at 6 in the tent having retired at 3:30 I should have chosen my car too then!

I love The Robin (both versions !).
Always good sound there and like you say Stoney, much bigger than you think. When you go in the bar through the front door you think "Blummin 'eck, this is someones front room, what's going on !! Then you find the back room and it's all different.
One thing though. I always manage to come down the stairs from the loos a bit quicker than going up and usually on my arse too !!
 ;)
Wish I could of been there.

Frightened made me the happiest man in the world. Apart from all the other men and ladies in the venue, who were probably just as happy as me about it. Fantastic night.

Bilston was an epic way to end a birthday week. Much appreciation to Kenny and Belza, good to meet some welcoming people..
Epic set and friendly mosh. Started at the back, managed to slip stream someone(?) to the front where the sound, atmosphere and experience was the best.
How the f*&& we found our way to Bilston and then back to Gods own country down south I have no idea. Its good to know there is someone almost as bad as me at directions. Bloody good time though Pazza, sincere thanks.
Thanks also to the curry organisers, a fitting end. Next time Belza try and stay with us  ;) .......
roll on Notts and Europa. (http://) .
