Title: Rebellion Festival
Post by: stompy13 on June 24, 2012, 09:48:46 PM
Anybody else spending a noisy weekend in Blackpool?

I'm leaving the sun and our lass behind for a long weekend of sand, sweat and safety-pins, so I was wondering if anyone on here was interested in meeting up. :D

Some of my mates go every year, but I've never been. Despite some of the bands playing being very tempting, I have mixed feelings about this festival.

Enjoyed playing there in 2009 and 2010. Great vibe, but I object to paying out that much money in truth......

I've only heard good things about the festival and compared to the prices of the festivals here in Spain it's cheap. Also, I've been meaning to go for the last few years and the line-up this year seems to be one of the best...like a browse through my record collection  :)

So there's no clash with so many groups I'd like to see I'm off to see PIL this Saturday...the summer's starting off well!

Anyone going to Rebellion might be interested to know that all the Ignite Books team will be there. Dave Barbarossa will be talking about, and reading from, his new book 'Mud Sharks' on Friday 3rd; Steve Pottinger will be talking to John Robb about Ignite Books on the afternoon of the 4th; and finally Joolz and Steve will be performing on the poetry stage later that same afternoon.

Hope to see some of you there!  8)

Flying tomorrow  :D Leaving 30º behind for 15º and rain...won't be needing my shorts then!

Still trying to coordinate all the groups I want to see...does anybody know if the stages get really busy so that you have to be there in good time for a band or can you quite easily wander from one stage to another? Cheers  :)
