Not many, I believe 5000 was mentioned some where........... There are others more scarce, but they are usually **** ups or promo's......... Adrenalin still elludes the Stone vault.......... Tiz my nly real bug bare........... >:(
Strange Brotherhood triple and Today Is a Good Day are also missing, but insane prices preclude the purchase of them........ =(

I think only 500 pressings of poison street red vinyl 7" if memory serves me correctly nowadays,
and maybe the same for bittersweet 7" with flexi ?

I have Poison Street red vinyl. Thought there was more like 1000 to be honest?
I only mentioned the two albums in passing, tho' I think both were 1000 pressed? Maybe more.......
I just thought the thread was on on sought after vinyl.........

Adrenalyn, the red vinyl of Poison street and the bittersweet with flexi surface quite often on ebay.
I think the rarest "commercial" record (I mean no promo or test pressing), is certainly the No Rest single from Spain.
I've only seen it 2 times in 8 years, first time I bought it ! and second time a few days ago, I don't know why but it was sold at a very low price, a real bargain for the winner !!

Currently on Ebay but will be out of my wallets shrinking capacity.

On a happier note I got Today is a Good day double album 2 weeks ago for 40 Euro which raised a big  ;D

40 Euro's is good price no doubt mate! Well done on that! My pride n joy is still the miss press of Purity 7", signed by Justin, Rob and Nelson. closely followed by Lights Go Out signed by Justin n Rob......... Both of then Rob wanted off me.

Was gonna go after a copy of ...world last year but the condition wasn't great. I have the Stupid Questions 12" promo and a 7" of Gimme Shelter tho'. The Gimme shelter is pretty scarce on vinyl, Jukebox promo thing. Condition wasn't good at all, but I complained and got it free in the end! The listing said mint, total lies.....

I've got a white vinyl test press of Poison Street an Hex that I'm partial to, the Jap 12" of Love Is.... is another loverly bit of my collection. Totally different cover from the UK one, it being a favourite record anyway, I'd been after a copy for ages! There's pics of my vinyl on Nacho's NMA page. I haven't done a cd piuc yet, and the vinyl is a current pic, but it's about 85% of what I've got.......

The SB triple ablum listed above is too expensive now for me :(

These might be of interest to someone (got myself a set earlier this year). Anthology promo set... good price (now!)

I've got nothing rare.  Don't even have a single vinyl copy of anything NMA related.  When I first started buying, I picked up what cassettes were available in small town Owensboro Kentucky, which was Ghost and T&C.  Later found both on CD along with Vengance - The Independent Story (Combo of some early stuff).
Wasn't until the internet that I even learned of some of the other stuff and finally picked them up after the shop opened.  I do have the EMI double CDs also, and am kicking myself that I didn't get the SB vinyl to start my collection.

I really like the Great Expectations American compilation. Nice artwork and a really good selection of trax. The U.S. BD3 ep is another good cd.........
The CLOG Dancers 7" is pretty good aswell.........
But I think my favourite 7" is the House Of Dolls ep with 125MPH alternate mix with Mark Feltham on.......... I LOVE THAT VERSION Of the song!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just won the Original 20 cd on Ebay!!!!!!!!! Hooray!!!!!!!!! Happy is me! ;)

There's a story about this Swedish bloke who was cheating on his girlfriend. When she eventually found out, she decided to hit him where it hurt the most: she sold off his New Model Army 7" collection (among other records, of course) to a second hand shop in downtown Malmö.

Now for the best part: if you - cheating guy - ever read this message, me+my wife just wanted to tell you we were the one's who bought your Sadistic Pleasures (both covers), Clog Dancers, Bittersweet (with flexi) and Great Expectations (among your other records). Be careful next time (or don't, your taste in music seems just fine and we still have some space left.  ;D)

Ok, so how many of you read Ironontour's posting and...

1st - were somewhat jealous?
2nd - rechecked down the list to see what you also have?
3rd - rechecked the list for what you don't have?
4th - felt gutted for items you don't have on the list that just slipped through your hands in the past?
5th - felt pretty smug for a couple of seconds on the things you have that are not listed (then felt guilty about it!)?

human nature is fun  ;)

Getting back on topic....

Are we defining rare as numbers pressed or how difficult they are to get/find?

I guess it is very difficult to get exact numbers on how many pressed

Don't know if it's rare or not, but my No Rest For The Wicked lp had one of those promotional use only, not for resale stickers on it. Like a prat I tried to remove it ( I was young!!! ), tearing the album sleeve in the process  :(

Does anyone know how many of the Vagabond and G&G picture discs were produced? I guess it is in the 10s of 1000 but never seen any numbers.

Also as mentioned, the bittersweet single and flexi must be quite limited but is does come up a lot for sale.

In regard to promos, I guess we never know how many are produced when they were on the majors. On their own label it might be easier to find out  ;)

I have Vagabonds & Green and Gray picture ones - EMI 1989
There was a list of numbers a while ago posted here - checked mine and they weren`t rare

On the back of the cover there is NMA P (number x) and then number 5 099920 xxxxxx - that made the difference rare or not rare  :-\

Wrong topic I know - but very very rare seems to be Frank Zappa- lp- Mother`s Day -
and I`m searching for that lp or an audio stream of it - it is not listed in the offical Zappa sources I found - but when I was young one of my friends had it before he sold the lp second hand  :'(

I'm sure, but i seem to remember some one saying there was 5000 of each of the Vagabonds and Green n Grey pic discs......... I think it was one of the traders at a record fair in the 90's somewhere......... But I can'y be sure.........
There was a feature in Spral Scratch magazine on NMA releases in about 93 I think........ I lost my copy years ago tho'......... =(
It had loads of info on releases up to Raw Melody Men ..........

I have also seen that there was custom artwork too (it is on the discog on the main page but never seen it in real life anything except there).

I remember, when Peter stopped updating his website, there was a posting in his guestbook, why he had to do this (lack of time, too much things in private and business to do and server problems pp)
I believe, he`s reading the news here without posting, still following the band and going to gigs sometimes ...

Hello Peter - many thanks for the work you`ve done for us  :)

Hello Peter - many thanks for the work you`ve done for us  :)

It is a shame we can continue Peter's work and coverted into a community maintained site (Wikipedia like updating).... actually that might be a great option... Any ideas out there?
(Thanks Peter for all the prior work - accessed it many a time)

Hi there,

I'm pretty happy with my NMA collection, but there's one missing I'm not sure it really exists, which hasn't been mentioned here. A finnish 10-track version of Vengeance. Had it on search on ebay and some vinyl-deliveries but no success yet for many years...

Anyone?

cheers
Charles

Talking about rare records:

Do anybody know how many Vinyl pressings of The Love Of Hopeless Causes there were?
They seems very rare - the UK and especially the Brazilian ones

There is a UK one up on ebay now:

I would guess it is a one off miss-press or "miss-label".
I have a single with the same label on both sides. Fun oddities. ;)
